Kingsman: The Secret Service

Finally saw this and loved it. Vaughn is one of my top 5 directors. This might tie Layer Cake for my favorite from him. Just a fun time with great action. Would definitely look forward to a sequel.

Vaughn does like action scenes where other characters are watching the action from a video feed. He did in the church scene here and twice in Kick Ass.

I hope they don't use the "ex-Kingsman agent who is now the villain" route. Been don't too many times with Bond.

I would love to see Patrick Stewart in this.

He would be great in a film like this. I'm wishing for Oldman.

I love Oldman…but honestly, I wouldn't have that ounce of surprise that Patrick would bring..for whatever reason. And I think Stewart rarely appears in major movies these days unless it's X-Men. So it would be a nice change of pace for him.

This is looking like it will make enough for a sequel to be made, I am not sure on is necessary, but if Vaughn is involved I am in.

Seems like after Vaughn stopped producing for Guy Richie, quality of Richie's films took a hit. Meanwhile Vaughn ,in my opinion, has put out nothing but quality. Maybe just a coincidence.

Saw this last night. Really loved it. Adored the relationship between Eggsy and Roxy and how it wasn't the typical action movie dynamic.

My second favorite Vaughn film, with Kick-Ass still being first.

$210m after this weekend WW. This is without China, Brazil and Germany, all yet to come, I can smell the sequel, and it is glorious. :drl:

Awesome news, Vaughn has got to direct the sequel though.
That is for sure, and it would be his first sequel. All things considered, I think he might actually do this one. Which would be fantastic.

At the very least, I can actually see how a sequel could keep the story going/expand on the universe. Something I couldn't see a reason for with Kick-Ass.

I hope so, though he does have KA3 and a hit girl prequel he wants to do also, but yeah, I think he will want to stay in the Kingsman universe.

I just saw Layer Cake yesterday.

I'd rank the Vaughn movies as follows:

Stardust
Kingsman
Layer Cake
X-Men: First Class
Kick Ass

But all really good movies. I'll probably own 4 when Kingsman comes out.

Gives me hope for the go ahead of an R rating for Deadpool.

Likely seeing this Friday... which will be my first movie of 2015.

Saw this last Friday. Some of the action scenes were done shaky cam style but it looked stylish and had a nice visual look to it. I enjoyed the character banter, violence and craziness on display. It's just a very entertaining movie. Matthew Vaughn once again was able to salvage something out of the mess. 8.5/10

And it turned Colin Firth into a convincing action hero badass. I didn't know that that was even possible.

I saw a review that summed it up perfectly: "I had no idea how much I wanted to see Colin Firth kick butts and shoot people in the head until I saw him do it."

^Ha that is perfect. And man, that church scene was just so good, what a bad ass way for the character [BLACKOUT]To exit the movie on[/BLACKOUT].

Almost $100m domestically, $250m WW. Still with Germany and China to open. :awesome:

I'm super happy about it's success, I haven't had that much fun watching a film in a long time.

I'm just going to float Sofia Boutella's name to play Elektra in the MCU. Just putting that out there for you Marvel.

Saw this today. It was a really fun Bond homage. Firth was awesome and who knew he could be so badass? I didn't like Sam Jackson in it though, I didn't like the way he played the part and thought it could have been better with someone else. Loved the fluidity of the fight scenes. Firth's line to the church woman was epic.

Also, how can you hate a movie that has a really blatant stand-in for the Westboro Baptist Church and then does that?
