Arguably one of the most iconic scenes of the first Spider-man movie trilogy, Do you think we'll see some sort of reference to it with Andrew and Emma?

Or perhaps something more similar to the scene in "Superhero movie" :cwink:? What would you do?

They already used it in SM1. It is too iconic. I want this to be completely new movie.

Things like this, remembering the great, iconic moments of the Rami trilogy (even some in Spider-man 3) make me a little sad that we'll never see a Rami Spider-man 4. It also makes me a little mad that he got so many great moments right, but busted up on a pretty good amount of others (again, mostly Spider-man 3).

I'm very excited for the reboot. I'm cautiously anticipating it. I'm not "thrilled" with Garfield as Peter Parker (Logan Lerman was my choice for his demeanor, look, ability, and age) or even Emma as Gwen, but I do like some of the other cast (Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Dennis Leary) so I'm willing to see how it all unfolds before judging anything. Garfield is a great actor, very good in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and The Social Network so I hope he can change my mind.

It's just a pity to think of what was, and how great a lot of the first trilogy was. I hope that this new trilogy can capture the wonder I felt while watching Spider-man as an eighth grader in 2002...

It's enough that they joked about it in Shrek 2
No need to bring that back

I dont think Gwen is going to be kissing spider-man at all in this movie, at least I hope not.

Which brings me onto creating iconic scenes. There are so many iconic scenes that can be created, all one has to do is look at a comic book. No need to recreate what was done in the Raimi movies.

I would hope for another iconic kiss, just not upside down in the rain

Exactly! It would be too similar to the SM1 scene!;)

But I don't even think that Gwen & Spider-Man should kiss, just Gwen & Peter. Because she was never in love with Spidey and their interactions in the comics were also a few ones if I remember well.

Pffft. Not at all. Don't even mention, there shouldn't even be a rainy scene. I still don't know how did Spiderman trust that MJ wasn't going to unmask him completely.

I say no........because the last the thing we need is a rehash.

Owing to the fact that this is a reboot for a modern generation, I'd say we're probably going to see Spider-Man and Gwen kissing through the phone.

well, they could always take a cue from the James Cameron script and have spidey web her to a bridge and then bang it out...

No. They should seperate the two series, so it doesn't seem like this one is trying to rip-off what Rami did.

Though, I'm all for an another iconic kiss scene.

WTF!? The previous films aren't even 10 years old. Someone better hurry up and reboot LOTR for the newer generation! There is a difference between copying and paying homage.

OK, Gwen shouldn't kiss Spider-Man, that just doesn't apply to her personality

I think Tobey and Kirsten upside down kiss is classic with Raimi's first movie. If any kiss is going to be memorable it should be something different

So how would you make the next kiss scene an iconic kiss scene?

This movies doesn't really need an iconic kiss. Anyhow, not with Spider-Man involved, since he was never a love interest for Gwen.

I'd go so far as to say that I'd rather there was no kissing involved in this film at all. The idea of love doesn't need kissing to be properly conveyed.

I guess I am the only one who thinks there is nothing wrong with a scene like this. Maybe not in the rain...but upside down kiss would be great since it would be a nice homage to the raimi films. Beside showing an upside down kiss isn't going to suddenly make this film a rehash (as some people seem to be applying)...thats a completely ridiculous assumption :whatever:

What will determine if this is a rehash is how they handle the plot, tone, and characters.

it's bad enough they they seem to be doing a rehash of the Spiderman 1 ending, only this time it's Capt. Stacy that dies instead of Norman. i really do not want to see another upside down kiss.

this movie is suppose to be a "reboot" of the franchise, come up with new things.

It's not their fault that in the comics both Gwen and Harry blame Spider-Man for their respective father's deaths. The difference will come to light in the sequels when Gwen forgives Spider-Man instead of brooding for two films and then becoming his nemesis.
