So when can I expect to play MGS4 on my 360?
Next year?
As of now, never.

Final Fantasy will get a port too.

I doubt that. Square Enix is taking a more "multiplatform" route by developing games for more than just Sony systems. But they're not really going multiplatform in making multiplatform games.
Take a look at what they're developing. Most of their games are still exclusive to the Wii (Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearer), Nintendo DS (Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, Dragon Quest IV, Dragon Quest V, Dragon Quest VI, Dragon Quest XI: Protectors of the Sky, and Heroes of Mana), Playstation 3 (Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII), and Playstation Portable (Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy: Dissidia, Final Fantasy Tactics, Star Ocean, and Star Ocean II) exclusives.
Hell their only multiplatform titles are Final Fantasy XI, the MMORPG they're developing, and The Last Remnant.
Considering that it's very likely that Sony is paying Konami to keep it exclusive, the repeated denials, and Kojima's downright refusal to port the game means that it isn't 100% guaranteed. It can still happen, but it's only a might happen, not a will happen.Yeah, don't think it's coming out on anything until 2008 anyways. Probably around November 2008 is when you'll see the xbox360 port that is 100% guarenteed to happen hippie_hunter.
It'll either be a multiplatform game or a 360 exclusive, and I think we both know how unlikely number two is. I really doubt anyone is going to try and release a game just on the PS3 unless they're being published by Sony, not until the console has a larger audience to help make back some of those skyrocketing development costs.
And the really huge, expensive games like Final Fantasy probably won't be among them.Square Enix isn't going to make an exclusive Final Fantasy game for the Xbox 360. Like it or not, even though it's in third place for the time being there will be exclusive third party titles for the Playstation 3. Not many, but there will be some.
And the really huge, expensive games like Final Fantasy probably won't be among them.
FF is not going to get a port. If theres one game that will take advantage of BR, its that game. FF is known for an insane amount of FMVs and no doubt FFXIII will be the same. The disk space for that one is going to be highFinal Fantasy will get a port too.
Not only that but the hardcore FF fans will pay anything to play the next game in the series. They will be willing to drop 500 or however many bucks to buy a PS3 to get their hands on this game. And Square-Enix knows this. I think people are underestimating the determination of the FF fansFF12, a super expensive game, made a little under 5 mill and they were happy with that. ff13 might be 2009. By then, the Ps3 will have more than enough users.
Over at gamevideos you can see the clip they were referencing, and the guy who answered very clearly never said "yet".
He said
"You know, like, right now we are making it only Playstation 3, we don't have a plan for any 360 version for now".

Everyone, read the quote above. No plans for now.
this to me suggests that MGS4 will be exclusive for a while. I believe they'll wait and see, for as long as possible, how sales of MGS4 will do.
2008 will be a year when PS3 finally gets a catalogue of worthwhile games.

So unless Sony throws a ton of cash at Konami MGS4 will be on the 360. Can't say I'm surprised.
Most of which can also be gotten on the 360.
Thanks for the heads up, [name removed]. For anything that resembles any shift in strategy, or product announcement, or even news of something happening with a third party, we’re always going to stick with “we haven’t announced anything about <fill in the blank.>” Every day we see rumors, most false, but some true, and we can’t confirm/deny everything out there for any number of reasons.
Publishing rumors doesn’t rub us the wrong way. If it weren’t for sites publishing rumors, there wouldn’t be much for most sites to talk about J. There really only are a few things that will rub us the wrong way: publishing content given under NDA, getting/publishing confidential information from people who are under NDA, invading/hacking systems where confidential information is housed without permission to gather information, making false/racial/sexual/inappropriate personal attacks, deliberately publishing false/misleading information, you get the idea.
As for retailers/employees/partners intentionally leaking information, we pay rather close attention to how/when those occur. If it happens that one site happens to get regular access to confidential information, I end up getting bombarded with questions from around the company about the relationship we have with the site, with what kind of access we’re giving the site, etc. Not pleasant for my team, especially because we’re doing everything we can to help community, not limit their access in any way.
I appreciate the note. I certainly will share everything I can, and I’ll often rattle enough cages to get to an acceptable answer. In this case, there’s really nothing we can say other than the obligatory “no comment.”
ditto*Sigh* here we go again.
The fact that its been in production since early 07 just confirms it to be a load of crap anyways. Countless people, including Kojima have denied its coming to 360 since that time, more recently PS3 ads have specifically stated its an exclusive. E for All Expo had Ryan whats his name saying "We couldn't do what we're doing without Blu-ray." and "If you want MGS4, you're going to have to buy a PS3"
