Eh, I trust John more than the majority of the Jackson Kong™ cast.

If anyone can bring depth to what I assume will a character whose only propuse is to provide a bridge in the franchise, I bet it's Goodman.

It be even better if he brings some of that 10CL ambiguity and authority. I'd love to see him and Jackson clash over leadership.

Giant Mecha-Goodman in Kong Vs. Godzilla or no dice!

It definitely seems less Apocalypse Now than before. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, and I'm not against the humor at all, but I did like the tone of the first trailer.

She'll always be Envy Adams and the chick from 21 Jump Street to me

I actually think she looks quite different from her Envy Adams days, in a good way. Not that I think she wasn't hot in Scott Pilgrim.

This looks ok. It's going to really depend on the performances for me, which don't seem like anything special so far. I know I sound jaded, but I watched Kong fight a family of T-Rexes in Jackson's version so seeing him fight other monsters isn't that different.

The action and Kong/the monsters all looks great to me. I just don't get these trailers. The music in this one I didn't care for, the tonal shifts. Not sure what they're going for.

Yeah, the new trailer is weird. It feels like they spliced three different TV spots together.

It's like they're trying their darndest to make this film look as lighthearted as possible.

The marketing for this movie has been messy and unconfident. You can tell that it's not tracking well. I really thought the marketing would be good for this film but due to this lackluster campaign my prediction for it has gone down. I'll preface my comments with the fact that I could be completely wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if say around 40 million is the most this will make on opening weekend. Reviews will matter as well of course. If they're good then people might give it a go.

Some of the shots in the trailer are breathtaking. Curious to see how the movie plays out.

WB are marketing this movie to younger audience, who may not turn up to watch this movie in theaters if it looks boring.

Hence the music and lighter tone.

The way the music was edited in that trailer was definitely ****.

I've missed all the trailers after the first two, and from the sounds of things I've made the right decision.

I didn't think the new trailer was all that great, but it definitely hasn't put me off going to see the film.

Were the 1st press screenings last night?

I think the footage looks great, especially stuff with Kong himself. But these trailers are just edited in a really bad way. Waiting for the reviews to see if this is going to be actually good or just pretty.

Doesn't excuse the bad editing. I don't have a problem with the footage itself, but with how bizarrely awful the music is spliced in and how the trailer was cut in general.

Even the second trailer was edited better than this.

John C. Reilly's character isn't working for me at all.

I swear that they have the same people working on these trailers that did the Suicide Squad trailers.

Well, it did result in higher Box office collection, so it seems that if any movie is failing to generate buzz, WB's plan-B is to hire those Trailer Park guys and allow them to make a trailer that will make people take notice.

Because they did such a wonderful job editing Suicide Squad, didn't they?

I mean, Academy Award Winning Suicide Squad. :hehe:
