BvS Larry Fong is the cinematographer!

Zack and Deborah look very short standing next to that Cylon.

Keep in mind that the color grading of a trailer isn't always the same as the color grading of the finished film. In some cases it can be drastically different and done by the trailer editors and not by the actual DOP and director of the film. And in other cases the color grading in a trailer is purely temporary or a work in progress.

This!

In true hype fashion a couple years ago almost everyone kept talking about how all they want is a movie "that looks like it was pulled from the comics", and lo and behold now that we'll get it one of the prevailing criticisms I predict for BvS is "It's too comicy".

That said, Fong is absolutely delivering going off the shots we've seen so far.

Just know that I wasn't one of those people.

Duly noted. I just remember the prevailing sentiment toward the prospective BvS cinematography being "Nolan's boring lololol" and "God plz no more shaky cam", with lots of people stating that they want iconic imagery straight from source material. That's clearly quite abundant in BvS, so if that ends up being a prevalent criticism around here at least some of the folks will have done an about-face on the cinematography.

I remember my manager complaining about the CC trailer looking too comicy. But that's one of the things I love about Snyder's directing combined with Fong's cinematography - I feel like it's pages I've read come to life. Probably why I love Watchmen so much. The two together are just tops.

It will be and I'm almost sure it will brought up by those same people that I'm afraid they cannot enjoy a thing fully at all and just need to find something to complain :loco:

Same. I feel that way for "300". I don't like Miller's stuff. I like the movie because of Snyder & Fong.

I remember the hype though. It was something nobody knows or care about until seeing the trailer. Never seen another movie so hyped because of visually so unique.

It was incredible what they did with only 65 million dollar budget for such a over the top war movie.

"Yeah...I hate when war films look to...war-y" - said no one ever.

Comic book movies will always be there for people to beat up on.

Horrific. Don't like fake environments. There's a real beautiful world to shoot these characters in where they should be photographed.

Horrific? Really??? Get outta here with that. Ugh. Hopefully you won't be in my cinema when I go see this movie.

This. If Fong's cinematography isn't your cup of tea, ain't nobody going to rip you apart - but calling it horrific? Get out.

That's like looking at a ethereal landscape painting and saying "This is *****, photos of real landscapes are way better."

Better for film and suspension of disbelief. I dislike the claustrophobia of a cgi environment. Real landscapes have depth that just cannot be replicated.

I have to agree. I don't like cg environments either.
Well...ones that look cg

Hence why I have him/her in my ignore list. Guess it wasn't a bad thing to do after all. :oldrazz:

I'm not bumping this thread only to end up at the bottom of the page, so if you all don't mind...
