Legacy Sequels You Want to See

After mentioning that a sequel to The Thing would be cool, I vaguely recalled Carpenter saying a few months back he has an idea for a sequel. Now I want to see it more than ever.

It's possibly a legacy sequel. This is the one project I could see John wanting to direct as his final film.

Not a sequel exactly, but I'd like to see another Burton-directed Sleepy Hollow follow-up, with all-new characters, although I guess I wouldn't be opposed to either Depp or Walken returning (along with Ray Park for the stunts, if he's still in good enough physical condition for that).

Another Starship Troopers would be cool too.

Although I enjoyed it, that film literally dragged the story and lead character through s#!t.
The defacto lead Depp, (movie really should have been called Tonto and his pal), and his fans going on about how his take on Tonto was going to bring so much respect to the culture, then wearing prosthetic nose, and ridiculous bird on his head, was a complete farce.
Still the film pay off, when they finally come together as heroes, the last 5 min. train chase, with the William Tell Overture in full swing was sensational fun!

Also the legit Lone Ranger Legacy Sequel (should be) Green Hornet.

It's far from perfect but I admire gore verbinskis ambition with his films. He makes some truly great set pieces that make me overlook some of the more bloated aspects. I found POTC AWE to be really long but man is it a lot of fun

The actual actors come together for a screening of the original movie at Palm Beach. Terry Kiser dies and Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman have to pretend he's alive during the entire event.

Honestly if Speed ever got a proper well made sequel with Keanu and Sandra back I’d be pretty happy (though I know how unlikely that is). I don’t think I’ve ever hated a sequel to a film I love as much as I hate Speed 2.

I would be down for this also but whats the plot? Does it have to be another bomb on a vehicle or can the idea of title be worked into another action concept.

Spaceballs - Mel Brooks is 96, so I'm not sure how much of a possibility that could be. Plus, I don't think you could recast John Candy as Barf.

Yeah this is one I would love to see. Like you said, I don’t know if it would work without Candy and Joan Rivers but with so many Star Wars movies and TV shows, I would love to see them give Spaceballs a sequel.

I saw Speed 2 once as a child and barely remember any of it. I'd welcome a real sequel with the OG cast.

I'm probably the only person on the planet that likes Speed 2 and didn't know (until quite recently) how badly was that film received. Is not Speed, don't get me wrong, but as a fun lazy saturday afternoon action adventure? You could do much worse.
