Superman Returns Legendary on Board Superman Sequel

Wow. I come into this thread looking for some good info on Legendary staying on with the sequel, and I'm greeted with arguements still, about the box office numbers and why the movie didn't do as well as expected.

Box office numbers weren't great, theres no going around it, no excuses, it just didn't strike that chord that many people thought it would. The bo numbers don't determine the quality of movie just gives a general outlook on what the majority of moviegoers thought.

Legendary has picked up for the sequel, and thats great news, because I'm looking forward to the next installment. I can't wait to see what we get this time around.

So, any more news about Legendary? After all that is what this thread is for.

There will be no sequel to this movie. EVER. No studio is going to waste more money on someone that is a proven loser with a franchise. This is not the Xmen and the way this ****er was received by the public a sequel will undoubtedly do much worse. Singer is gone after the DVD is released. What else are these people gonna say at this point??? Admit that this POS sucks???

Can I borrow your time machine?

^ I cant wait for the sequel also. All we know about Legendary is that they are on board for the sequel. I doubt we'll get much more news about the sequel until about a year from now.

well,I loved the Hulk, but its B.O. was pretty bad as well.I thought it was pretty good though.

Again, people using multiple screen names. And an internet poll is hardly reliable. I wish people would stop counting them. And who cares about RT. So some critivs liked it, then later they started talking about how it was a let down.

Do you ever sleep. You defend this film in reply to every negative post. I can't figure out when you sleep.

Naw. I would rather just look at the box office and how badly it did, and the drop off's as my cue on how the film was really received by the movie watching audience. That is an actual, factual indicator, and not all this pie in the sky stuff you apologists like to quote. If I were to belive internet polling, Snakes on a Plane would have been the biggest film of the year, and not the flop it ended being a well.

Let's all back off and take a breath....stop arguing.

Sure it's called an education and common ****ing sense. Do you have either one?
You posted this after I posted for people to stop the stupid arguing...so the question is...do YOU have any common sense?

Stop the attacks.

Stop the arguing.

Get over the bad attitude and eat some ice cream or something.

Yup and yup.

Perhaps you would like to reason your opinion with Superman's consistent box office the past few weekends. People are still going out to see this movie despite the lack of theaters. In fact, it averaged over $3,000 per theater this holiday weekend.

But yeah, you know, common sense says that all these people hate the movie. And if you're gonna attack someone's intelligence, good sense would tell you to leave the language out of the post and not be so hostile.

I mean it's just a movie for God's sake.

Jesus, this place is so not fun to visit anymore. This summer has officially killed my Superman movie enthusiasim. Later folks.

lol The summer or THE MOVIE IT SELF?

IF the movie was actually good, and people actually liked it then im sure you would have had a great superman summer... So um blame Singer for your crappy Summer...

I just hope there isn't a sequel to this nonesense he created, and the WB goes back to the drawing board...

Well good sense would also tell you to keep your smart mouth shut in the first place but we see that didn't happen did it you pretentious chump?

Guys what the hell. Just stop this nonsensical arguing. There's nothing anyone can do now to change what the movie is and what it isn't. How about we concentrate on the sequel itself, and stay more on topic.

I LOVE ICECREAM!

Well a sequel is inevitable at this point. I always thought it was, and never understood the "must reach 200 mil" thing. Sure this movie cost a truck load to make but it's not a huge catwoman sized bomb. What is interesting is that Legendary is willing to continue after not meeting their expectations. What will they do if Jason Returns doesn't quite soar either?

No big shock, the potential for huge earnings is still there despite what happened with this first film.

Well some people DID like the movie and IMO SR is the best movie of the summer. Everyone i know who has seen it loved it also, so dont assume so much.:p

No offence, because I know alot of anti SR fans can be pills, but is that the best argument that the fans of SR can come up with? "Boxoffice doesn't equal a good movie." Ofcourse not! But what you are neglecting to mention is that boxoffice doesn't mean that a movie is bad either. I never hear that from people who defend the boxoffice disappointments that they love.

PS. BladeRunner is not all that!

good point.it was good, but it could have been better.lets hope they get the sequel right. They need some comic writers on it, big time....

Well A LOT of SR haters on here use the box office take to 'prove' that SR is a poor movie, so say that to them.

LMAO yeh and you seem to think SR is better than Bladrunner????
Because if so you have no worth to your opinion whatsoever.

Plenty of foreign films are highly criticaly accliamed does that mean they are good movies? I do not think so and I know many would agree with me they are just to artsy for my tastes.

The BO has been since the early 90's the barometer for a movies success whether you choose to accept this or not is irrelevant since the average public does, see MTV movie awards which eclipse the number of viewers of the emmy's or oscar's and we will not even mention the hundred's of millions who vote in the MTV awards.

You totally don't understand my opinions.

Why am I being attacked by the SR haters and lovers? Does that mean I'm doing something right?
