Edwards more or less confirmed that the Ifukube theme will not be in the film, which I'm actually mostly okay with, mostly because I'm really interested to hear was Desplat comes up with instead.

I think he mentioned easter eggs. Like in the trailer, in one of the destroyed buildings has 2 firefighters at the edge, that with the distance, look an awful lot like Mothra's Fairies/Cosmos/Shobojiin.
