Sequels Legendary Pictures & Thomas Tull Think Superman Sequel

Then I'm worried they're using Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Haha. El Payaso!! Nice to see you back...I missed you. :word:

I think the only way Zod would have worked out in this run is if he was actually featured in Returns. It could have worked.

Disagree. I've read awesome ideas of how to use him in a sequel in other forums. But I wouldn't want him to be the main villain, at all, just to do a cameo or very small role but poignant and relevant to the plot.

LOL.

A cross-over episode of House M.D. from the 3rd act of Superman Returns.

Agree to disagree, but if I was running the show, I think it would be very narrowminded to use Zod at this point. Also knowing the direction that Singer's team wanted to take things, they wanted to break away from "The Donnerverse, as does WB and the fans. To use Zod on any level at this point is a slap in the face to fans if you ask me.

Zod could have been great in Returns. Now its too late. Beside Lex made him kneel in Returns.

Call me crazy but I'm still not convinced they won't use Zod. The WB seems utterly clueless when it comes to Superman.

There was a time on these boards when fanboys were foaming at the mouth for Zod to be in a new Superman movie, oh how times change.:whatever:

If Zod was used to his full potential, I'd have no problem seeing him again. I'd rather see Braniac though. Braniac, then Zod.

I was never foaming at the mouth to see Zod, I wanted Metallo from the get go.

Metallo's cool, but he's not a "movie-carrying" villain. More of a supporting element. One idea I had for MAN OF STEEL involved Braniac creating a version of Metallo to gauge Superman's power levels and weaknesses, and siccing The Parasite on him as well.

Well my idea was an orgin story and Metallo would have been (Lexcorp) Lex Luthor's muscle. I don't think he would be able to carry a movie alone either.

And no, I wouldn't want the story to be pulled directly from the cartoon. I would do a little something called research and mix up all of the best inturpetations of the character and his story. My research would have went beyond Richard Donner and looking at the famous cover of a comic.

I agree...Braniac should create Metallo if Metallo were to be used.

Or how about Braniac creating Doomsday?

I'd like Brainiac to be the main villain, but I'd like to see a fight at the opening between Superman and a villain with no connections to Lex or Brainiac. Metallo or Bizarro maybe.

That would show its not always about Lex, and that there are other threats on earth.

Sounds abit similar to an idea I had for an origin. My idea was that Corben was apart of Intergang (who get's weapons from Lex) and during an hiest or something he's hurt badly. Luther would take advantage of it and offer him the Metallo to save his life. Fast forward year and we have Metallo appear. I believe that also had Bizarro in it.

We all need a little bit of this...

One of my artists did it for me. Michael Corleone to you hypsters.

Lex uses his mad scientist skills (see what I did there?) to create a trio of super-villains to do his bidding: Metallo, Bizarro, and Parasite. Buckle up, Metropolis, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

:super:

It's kool.:yay:

About Zod. At one time I was wanting terrence stamp to cameo as Zod in the sequel, all powerless and in prison.
Now though, I don't think i'd want him. Folks would complain that singer is using donners films for ideas again if he did.

You can't say he didn't spend his budget wisely just because he cut the sequence. He spent money on a sequence and a set element, and still had plenty of money for the rest of the film. Obviously he budgeted well.

Cutting the sequence later on may have been unwise, but the spending of the budget was not. At the time he was spending the budget, he could not have known he was going to be cutting the sequence.

It's not just because of that one scene. Singer spent approximately 3 mil on the 'bullet-to-the-eye' scene - creating a complete CGI Brandon Routh head - when the same scene in the satire 'Epic Movie' had the same visual but done for a fraction of that and it looked pretty much the same. Instead of wasting money on the CGI effect, they just used the actual actor and supered in a CGI bullet.

He just could have thought some of that out a little more. I don't think things like that will be a problem if he DOES get to do the sequel. I think the execs at the WB will be watching the expenses a little more closely.

But, you know what? Looking at this it makes it clear that the cape needs the yellow emblem. It's just totally blah without it.
I agree. That's the biggest issue I had with the S.R. suit.
Secondary was the darker red.
