And in the poster form....

I love the contrast of her dark and grimy appearance with her radiant blue eyes.

The human spirit, amidst pain, loneliness and despair, will eventually rise above it's horrible circumstances and continue to go on living.

This is probably one of the best posters I've seen in quite some time. It perfectly and succinctly captures the theme of the musical and the book in just one simple image.

I don't see any poster? Can someone repost it?

So I was on the Hobbit board, and noticed we haven't broached this topic yet: who'd be excited to see Les Miz action figures?!?

I want Enjolras with flag-waving-when-you're-being-shot-at action!

Barricade playset with revolving turntable!!

Runaway cart with super-strength Valjean.

The adult Cossette action figure does nothing but stand there.

It's considered the most accurate action figure in toy history.

Announcer- Now you can own your very own Fantine Barbie! With hair you can cut!

Girl- She's so malnourished!

I'm sure someone might try to customise the Hot Toys Catwoman into Fantine.

Or someone might do that with those Toner Anne Hathaway dolls.

If that's the official poster I will be disappoint. I wish they will have character posters in the future.

Still say we're getting a new trailer this week. :p

I think we would have heard about it, then... the best we can hope is to get to know this week when the trailer is coming out :P

i swear i've read somewhere that the iconic little girl poster is supposed to be Eponine and not Cosette

It certainly isn't. Little Eponine (in the book) was a very spoiled and even evil girl (it is said that she and her sister Azelma thought Cosette is "something like a dog" in their house...). Hugo himself suggested that the misery of little Cosette was indeed the ultimate one...

(the picture, I mean)

And really, Cosette is the central figure in Les Miserables, even though she's not that great character. Fantine sacrificed herself for Cosette and almost everything that came later had something to do with her (Valjean saving him, Marius loving him and Eponine suffering because of that...).

Cosette has been pretty much eclipsed by Eponine since the musical... both Fantine and Eponine have far better numbers than her.

The will be a clip shown tonight during Dancing With The Stars. Don't know if it will be something new, or something we've seen, but I figured I'd spread the word. I'm sort of torn because I want to see the clip if it's something new, but I REALLY don't want to watch that show.

But I don't want to watch Dancing With the Stars. :argh:

I'll DVR it while I watch The Avengers.

Cosette is more the figurehead, icon and marketing face of Les Miserables, but in reality Fantine and Eponine have the more memorable roles because of their songs.

It came on around 9:00. It's basically the teaser with some new shots added in of Russell, Eddie, Amanda, Sam (I don't think there was any new Hugh except for some different views of scenes we've seen). Anne still singing IDAD. Nothing too earth-shattering.

It was definitely a new trailer (haha, I was right!) but it just had the same IDAD sound bite, so it felt like the same trailer. :/

I am not liking the post production work they've done to Anne's voice... frankly, it removes some of the raw emotions that were in the first theatrical teaser.

I'm not sure if Anne's "new" voice is better or not... even if it's not better, I still like it. I liked the "new" trailer, especially that we saw Samantha in the "heart full of love" (I've thought for ages how would they do that scene; now I finnally know...)

This youtube comment might make some sense:

For those people concerned about the change in Hathaway's recording, to put your minds at ease, it isn't a dub or the work of post-processing. If you listen closely to the original teaser, you'll notice that the song has been made up of several different takes of Hathaway singing. Pay attention to the line "I dreamed that love would never die" in both trailers. They are distinctly different, and they've simply chosen the recording that works best for the scene.
But Anne said Tom went with her "second take" ... and it still feels like post-production to me. Dunno. They might even choose neither of the two versions for the final cut. But the first teaser was certainly more raw and real...

I think the new scenes in the trailer include Javert's suicide (where his face is covered with sweat...) and Javert just after the first song, "look down", observing how Valjean leaves the prison (well, that is a rough guess). I even imagine how he sings, "Do not forget me, 24601" up there on a hill....
