Les Miserables: Even the thread will make you cry

:whatever:
At the time when it was just announced of Jackman's involvement, I felt Hollywood was over-saturated with Hugh personally, add the fact that I felt he was too young for the role to truly give it gravitas, but I do agree there really is no one else in Hollywood at the moment who would be a better choice.

How's Hugh too young? Also, I don't really see anyone else being a better choice than Hugh, he has both theater and film experience, theater actors with no film experience tend to overact in front of the Camera.

Rubbish.

Not rubbish, they're just completely different styles of acting that's why they're acting classes for film and theater. Theater acting requires you to be over the top because of the distance between the stage and the audience.

He's actually two years older than Colm Wilkinson was when he originated the role in 1985.

Again, it was just a personal feeling, I've always viewed Valjean older then Jackman is all.
And I just said that at the moment there's no better actors for the role.

I'm with JP, total rubbish. A very big false generalization.

Another new one, found on tumblr and apparently was seen in the NBC Experience store:

I like the posters, but using the song lyrics out of context have made for some really cheesy and clunky taglines. Luckily, if the movie is as good as the buzz is, it will be so strong it will find the audience it needs.

Did Anne really shave her head to look like her hair is actually falling out with that bald spot in the front? :wow: I know her hair was cropped for the movie, but this looks more drastic than I thought. Talk about dedication to her craft.

Yep, a stylist in costume was on set to cut her hair after the extra took the first cuts.

I agree the taglines are a bit cheesy LMAO, but I don't think the general audiences think much of that?

Hopefully they will get something badass for Javert and Enjolras/the students.

I was right! I recognized the shade of green of his coat :oldrazz:

That is a beautiful, romantic poster! :atp: But sadly I can hear the cries of "Twilight copycat" coming from a mile away. Les Mis and Twilight are pretty much nothing alike (save the romance/"love triangle", I s'pose), but idiots will still do it anyway.

What's sad is that nowadays anything with a teen love story will be called a Twilight copycat. :csad:

I know. It's kind of ridiculous. And so is all the venomous hatred of said franchise, but I'm not getting into that. Back on topic!

Indeed.

I like those posters and the taglines are alright with me. Jackman's one sheet is good.

^Nice. I could see that being a Batman movie tagline!

I LOVE the one with Cosette and Marius and the song title is not out of context, it is very lovely. It should make Twilight embarrassed of its existence. The one with Jackman is a little bit dull and Crowe's is especially dull.

Edit: ok, ok, Jackman isn't dull. But Crowe still is.

Except that isn't that a Judge Dredd movie tagline? And his catchphrase?
I don't know. I haven't seen that movie nor am I a fan of the character. I'm basing it off Batman telling the sons of Batman in TDK Returns "tonight we are the law, tonight I am the law."

I AM THE LAW AND THE LAW IS NOT MOCKED. :cmad:

I knew that would be Javert's tagline, or the other part of the line. But what I didn't expect is his expression. He almost looks sad.

I know, I expected it to be a meaner expression. This looks like Javert towards the end of his story.

Since about 8 people saw that movie, I don't think we have anything to worry about there...

Yeah, but it's not just the movie tagline but Judge Dredd's general catchphrase.

That would be like saying that if no-one saw the Fantastic Four movies, someone could use "It's clobbering time" or "flame on" for another movie tagline.
