Sequels Let's Cast Villains!

*points to sig*

My Sinister Six-
Electro(Sinister Six secret weapon)
Doc Ock(returns. And is the leader)
Sandman(returns)
Hobgoblin(mystery villain who is revealed to be Norman Osborn later)
Carnage(no REAL characterization needed.Like with Venom)
Lizard(hopefully not CGI'd. They can do him without it)

Though I doubt this will ever happen since the budget on Sandman alone was damn high, luckily most of the other villains save for Carnage and Doc Ock won't need much CGI.

The Scorpion/Mac Gargan - David Wenham
Mysterio/Quentin Beck - Sam Neill
The Vulture - John Malkovich
just a few new names, can't think of others right now

Interesting. The Sam Neill casting intrigues me. I assume that'd be with a more confident and capable Mysterio than what most people are getting at?

The Scorpion casting is also interesting. I'm not sure if I've heard him without an accent... I mean, for Scorpion, he'd obviously have to lose it. I like him for that role though. I can definately being able to pull off the semi-pathetic sleazeball that Mac Gargan starts out as. Jason Statham, a name that a lot of people have been throwing around... he seems good at first, but the more I thought about it, the less I like it. I'm sure he can play a deadly, confident villain, but I'm not sure I'd buy him as pre-Scorpionization Gargan. Scorpion is interesting to cast. He's so open to interpretation. I wish people discussed casting possibilities for him more. It's more of an open book than say, Carnage.

Also, keep in mind, I think that Mysterio and Scorpion are two villain that could really be cast colorblind.

The Big Show for Rhyno imo.

He's kinda... fat. I dunno. If we're talking wrestlers for Rhino...

That face just screams "Rhino" to me.

Triple H as Rhino? I don't know about that lol. But without a doubt, Ben Kingsley should be the Vulture.

As long as our less-intelligent would-be casting directors are going to suggest professional wrestlers to play parts in superhero movies, the Rhino is the one to actually do it with. There's no way he would have any dramatic focus, so essentially, the role simply demands that one is big and acts, well, like a professional wrestler. With the grunting, and the macho posturing and what not. Triple H has the most Rhino-like face to me.

As for Ben Kingsley... Ben Kingsley IS the Vulture. He was born to be the Vulture. Never has there been a man more "Vulture" than Ben Kingsley. You can look it up in the dictionary.

Ben · Kings · ley [ben - kingz - lee ]
-noun
1. Academy Award-winning British actor; marked strongly by characteristic of needing to play the f***ing Vulture.

Hey man, well said. I'll agree with what you just said about Rhino, cause when I think about it, there's no one that comes to mind at the moment. So if it where to be Triple H as him, then maybe as a cameo? Or someone Spidey fights as a secondary villain?

I couldn't have summed it up better for Kingsley as Vulture.

Well it'd have to be. A big muscular guy with a horn on his head... running around... smashing his head into things... as a central villain...? Um. No.

If Rhino is EVER involved in the movie series, he would have to be nothing more than a superpowered thug, either working for someone else or providing a cameo appearance.

Right on, that would be how I want Rhino in a Spider-Man movie. Maybe even have someone hire him to kill Spidey.

He could work as a member of the Sinister Six, assuming they decided to go that route. I don't know if it could work onscreen, but I know that if it did, you'd have to have at least one guy like Rhino up there who doesn't require any real character background or development.

You don't need a big dumb wrestler who can't act to play a villain,we could get great actors who can actually act and just put them in prosthetics to give them big muscles.

But for Rhino, a wrestler would pretty much just be doing what wrestlers do ANYWAY. I do not normally condone casting wrestlers in movies, but I make a special exception for Rhino. Rhino is sort of "bare minimum acting ability" type role. As long as how they read the lines doesn't take away from the movie, they can just do their wrestler thing.

I mean, Randy Savage worked for Bonesaw in SM1 for that very reason. Plus, it's not really worth it to pay a "serious actor" paycheck and spend time and money making convincing prosthetics when the role is essnetially a brick who is either going to have a cameo appearance or be a member of the Sinister Six.

Ron Perlman could make the character awesome even if it was just for five minutes of screen time.

I'd like to add David Tennant as Mysterio to my list. :yay:

If you're wondering why I just looked at some pics of him as Doctor Who. To me they just screamed "Quentin Beck".

I'd love to see the Sinister Six on screen, and Rhino there would be great.

ya, if the character is done, i'll like to see him done right, there’s alot protectoral with him as a main villain
it would be a wasted opportunity to turn him in to some joke side villain

thats what i thinking, his role in van helsing, kinda reminded me of Mac Gargan, its important to get both side of the role, right
but, your probably right about the accent, but, like most actors, I sure he can hiding it (though, i don't know if having an accent, would hurt the character, anyway?)

Maybe MJ's dad could be a villian,it's a way to connect Peter to a villain.

yeah, they'd also waste a **** load of money when they could save that **** load and cast some big guy
