Let's Make The Marijuana Thread Again!

"Do I think it’s as dangerous as heroin? Probably not. I’m not an expert"

You should f**king be one as head of the goddamn DEA.

It funny and tragic at the same time.

These people are paid to mislead the public about cannabis and unjustly persecute people who sell, grow and buy a natural plant that doesn't kill anyone.

recently blazed one after a 5 month period of sobriety. and i deeply regret it.

"Texas woman accuses police of sexual assault over body-cavity strip search"
"Experts say Harris County officers’ search of Charnesia Corley is ‘constitutionally suspect’ after they held her down and probed her vagina for marijuana"

A woman has accused sheriff’s deputies in Texas of sexually assaulting her at a gas station by stripping her and conducting a body cavity search without her consent during a traffic stop.

Charnesia Corley, 21, who is African American, said officers with the Harris County sheriff’s department held her down in a Texaco parking lot and probed her vagina in a search for marijuana.
“They did a manual cavity search. It’s the most serious search you can do under our constitution and should be done in a sterile environment. You sure can’t do it in public by the side of the road. It’s unbelievable,” her attorney, Sam Cammack, told the Guardian on Tuesday.
Corley, who has no criminal record, will file a complaint to the Internal Affairs Division, her attorney said. “I’m doing it right now,” Cammack said, adding that he hoped there was video of the incident.

Corley was pulled over at around 10.30pm on 21 June near Ella Boulevard and Barren Springs Drive in Houston while driving to a store in order, she said, to fetch something for her sick mother.
According to the Harris County sheriff’s office, a deputy pulled her over for running a stop sign. Upon smelling what he believed to be marijuana he handcuffed Corley, placed her in the back of his patrol car and searched her vehicle in vain for the drug.
Upon returning to the patrol car he then allegedly smelled marijuana, concluded Corley had it hidden on her person, and summoned female deputies. One was African American, the other white.

One ordered her on the ground and ordered her to pull her trousers down, Corley told ABC13. “I told her, I said: ‘Well ma’am, I don’t have any underwear on.’ She says: ‘Well that doesn’t matter. Pull your pants down.’”
Corley said she was ordered to open her legs but said she did not wish to do so. “So she says: ‘Well if you don’t open them, I’m going to break them,’” Corley said. “All I could do was just lay there. I felt helpless.”
She told KTRK she felt violated. “I feel like they sexually assaulted me. I really do. I feel disgusted, downgraded, humiliated.”

Corley was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana after deputies allegedly found .02 ounces of marijuana.
The Harris County sheriff’s department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday. But a spokesperson told local media the deputies did everything as they should and that Corley had assented to a strip search.
Cammack disputed that and said an officer’s report of the incident, which he had obtained, corroborated his client’s version. The attorney declined to say where the marijuana was found but said police claimed to have found it on Corley’s person. Police usually chose not to prosecute for such tiny amounts of marijuana, he added.
Regardless of what was found, the search violated privacy and the constitution, said Cammack. “They could’ve found a kilo of cocaine insider of her and still should not have done it.”
Rebecca Robertson, legal and policy director of the ACLU of Texas, said a cavity search without a warrant was a “blatant” violation of the fourth amendment, and that an orifice probe was the most invasive search possible.
“A body cavity search without a warrant would be constitutionally suspect. But a body cavity search by the side of the road ... I can’t imagine a circumstance where that would be constitutional,” she told the Houston Chronicle.
She noted previous controversies over cavity searches in Texas. In 2013, the Department of Public Safety was forced to pay $185,000 to two women who alleged troopers had conducted cavity searches by the roadside, illuminated by patrol car headlights, in full view of passing traffic.
Police in Texas came under renewed scrutiny last month over the case of Sandra Bland, an African American woman found dead in her Waller County jail cell after being detained during a traffic stop.

I like White Russian, a hybrid of White Widow and AK-47.

I like Widow but it knocks me on my ass. Great when I got nothing to do. But AK-47 is a more upbeat high that doesn't make me lethargic. When you cross pollinate (I guess that's the term) the two you get an intense high, but you can still function and be productive.

Just heard on my local news. Guy had his two children with him in the car. Drifted into the oncoming lane, and hit a car head on causing a woman to lose her baby at 34 weeks.

And he was under the influence having smoked before driving. Great harmless crap you guys love so much.

I love weed; I don't love driving under the influence.

Just like I love guns and not murder, sex but not rape, eating but not obesity, etc.

Few things are dangerous if you're not being irresponsible. Weed isn't the culprit here. This individual's choice was.

Weed is no more dangerous than alcohol, if it's used responsibly it's fine. Just like we teach people responsible drinking, we should teach them about responsible marijuana consumption.

That's a real shame. Very sad.

Get a grip. Idiots who text and drive cause dangerous accidents every day, and yet, I'm sure you own a cell phone and you love it so much. Right?

The fact that something can generally be considered to be harmless overall doesn't change the fact that there will always be idiots who misuse it, abuse it, and/or make poor decisions while using it. This holds true for so many things in life outside of "drugs" -- phones, food, sex, money, the Internet, etc.

oh, and alcohol is some harmless crap that people love so much? I bet people dying from reckless drunk driving is just a fable. no wonder it's legal and marijuana isn't.

:ikyn

no one is saying it's okay to get intoxicated and get behind the wheel. and I am certainly not saying marijuana is completely harmless. it IS however much less harmful than alcohol, yet it is treated as one of the worst drugs out there and as long as that continues to be, I'll continue to not trust whoever enforces that.

Yeah man I bet you hate all phones since they're far more likely to cause accidents.

Ban all phones!

BTW - It's against the law to drive stoned even in states where cannabis is legalized. Just like drunk driving is illegal. But I bet you still enjoy a nice cold beer, right?

Weed puts me to sleep... Dunno how people can think and even party on it....

If need drugs to improve your life then you got some issues. Like I said weed is for slackers/ losers.

This is the most ridiculous statement I've heard in a while. You sound like a D.A.R.E. officer talking to an auditorium of fourth graders.

If need drugs to improve your life then you got some issues. Like I said weed is for slackers/ losers.

If need drugs?

Maybe you should worry more about your typing/grammar skills and a little less about pointing out the imagined shortcomings of total strangers.

Yeah someone using Weed to improve their life quite possibly has issues, issues like chronic pain, grand mal seizures (epilepsy), multiple sclerosis, PTSD, nausea, loss of appetite, cancer, Parkinsons, IBS, diabetes, arthritis, PMS, among many other ailments.

Like I said weed is for slackers/ losers.

It's quite a thing to enter a thread and just accuse the frequenters of said thread of being "slackers" & "losers", without actually knowing any of those people. It's quite an antagonistic statement from someone who is self-described as a "friendly Christian" [in your sig].

What a fat, lazy slob! There's no way he could be highly motivated & busy, or be super fit & healthy in his late-40's, or be worth millions of dollars or an accomplished martial artist when he smokes so much weed! :o

In News - Ohio Might Be Next to Legalise, Will Vote in November

The Ohio Secretary of State’s office yesterday confirmed that a statewide ballot proposal seeking to permit the personal use and commercial production and retail sale of cannabis will appear on the November ballot. Proponents of the measure, Responsible Ohio, gathered sufficient signatures to place the issue before voters as a constitutional amendment.

Ohio now has the opportunity to join Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Washington D.C. as states that have passed laws allowing for the personal possession and consumption of cannabis by adults.

If enacted, the measure would initially establish 10 state-licensed commercial growing sites. (State regulators will have the opportunity to grant additional licenses if these initial production sites do not adequately meet demand.) Commercially produced cannabis will be sold at over 1,000 proposed retail dispensaries.

A minimum of five regional marijuana testing facilities will be established to regularly check the chemical compounds found in the product for adequate labeling for consumers and regulators.

Additionally, residents over the age of 21 will be allowed to purchase a $50 license to grow their own marijuana plants with a limit of 4 plants per household and/or 8 ounces of useable product at a time. The amendment also establishes a non-profit medical marijuana dispensary system to provide access to those patients with a recommendation from a physician. Medical marijuana will not be taxed and will be provided on a needs-based fee system. Commercial marijuana production will be taxed at 5% when purchased for personal use and 15% at the wholesale and manufacturing level.

I have friends who smoke weed who are the farthest thing from slackers, contrary to the stupidity above.

There is a difference between smoking weed at least occasionally, and being a "pothead".

It's ike assuming every person who drinks alcohol is a homeless hobo.

There are people who smoke the same way a soccer mom drinks wine with her friends. In fact, there are soccer moms who responsibly smoke weed as well as doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc.

I need some after interacting with some of the idiots in the BvS boards these last couple of days.
