The pro-weed rhetoric is as tiresome. I also find it amusing that people get as vehement about a trivial pastime as they do about whether or not abortion or gay marriage are legal. You'd swear some people needed it to get by.
Life is short, bro. If you ban dancing, recreational sex, sugar, video games, movies, they are no longer trivial vices. They become a ridiculous suppression of a person's right to enjoy themselves in a victimless way and flat out unjust laws that impact millions.
And not only does cannabis help you appreciate the things I listed, it has hundreds of medicinal uses and thousands of industrial uses.
So yeah, it's not like the mistake of banning alcohol. It's actually much worse.
I find it PATHETIC that you think it's not a serious issue that millions of people have been unjustly arrested for using a relatively safe plant. Those arrest records derail people's lives when something like alcohol is far more destructive. You think it's not a serious issue when hundreds of billions of dollars goes towards criminals instead of building schools, roads, and infrastructure?
Abortion is legal. Gay marriage is legal. Maybe it's time to focus on unjust drug laws that waste billions of dollars and countless resources.
In this thread it's going into overdrive though, and it's exaggerated. Marijuana is touted as a cure-all while alcohol kills everyone whose lips it touches.
That Cannabis is safer than both alcohol and commercial tobacco products has become synonymous with "Marijuana is safe, period".
No, that's a hyperbolic statement/stawman and you know it.
No one said that "cannabis is perfectly safe" but it's kind of ridiculous when ciggs and booze kill millions globally every year and the medicinal plant with zero deaths gets people locked up.
I mean, when people see the mind-boggling hypocrisy and injustice involved, of course they take it seriously and push for drug law reform.
You'd have to be blind not to.
