Should Singer conitnue to direct the X-men movies or not?

Vaughan directed and Goldman wrote it. I'd bet Singer's involvement in FC was minimal. Singer peaked at X2 and despite the glowing reviews I didn't think DoFP was a patch on FC. Move him on and get a director in with fresh ideas.

and kinberg was script doctor on FC too.

SInger was hands on producer on FC.

I think he has done great and would love to see him continue, specifically in a producer capacity, I'd like to see something fresh now and someone who can elivate the action sequences

Imho he should not direct, but stay on as one of the main producers, like he did with First Class.

I'm watching it for Psylocke and to review it more, and its not like I could refund the tickets that I already paid in advance. And by the way, for the third time, someone paid for my ticket and the IMAX screening today, there's no way I could cancel it since I'm watching the movie with someone from work.

You could always say I'm not interested, but you go watching.
If fan to you is watching Psylocke in this movie because she's your favorite character, but you say movie sucks (because it's not old cast, other charcters aren't favorite for you), you're trololololo...

Don't know if serious?
I don't watch 3 times, even 2 times movies, that sucks.
You're trololo or what.

we are in situation where some are critical because their favorates didn't get
focus.people are most critical on storm,Psylocke, and Jubilee even though this
didn't surprise me.

Singer i felt defently wanted to make up for cyclops shortcomings In X-men
and X2.and despite the marketing i feel Jean is almost the real female lead
not Mystique. That was what i found most surprising.

Singer also was clearly influenced a bit by both X-men and X-men evolution
animated shows.Jubilee was In this film probally because of her role on 1990's animated show.both Cyclops and nightcrawler were defently influenced by X-men evolution versions.the uniform quicksilver spots at end
likely was influenced by Evolution quicksilver.Plus both cyclops and jean's outfits were influenced by 1990's show.and it seems like evolution may have influenced a bit how singer did cyclops and jean's relationship In film.

@Kasjan, If I'm not interested then why am I here in this board in the first place. Geez I don't have to explain myself to you. I love X-Men movies and I didn't like this one, and I already posted a lot of reasons why the movie wasn't good.... are you gonna ask me again whats my rating for First Class? I know what you are doing here. I don't use my time criticizing on a poster's opinion. Leave me alone, flamer.

Just do it Fox! That should have been THE sequel for DOFP, IMHO.

Apocalypse is the sequel for DOFP

I'm more interested in a sequel (X5, if DoFP is X4) with OT cast set after DoFP future timeline than a 90's movie. Apocalypse didn't leave me wanting more AND I don't want another movie if Kinberg is the screenwriter.

A movie with Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Beast, Wolverine, Rogue and Xavier as the core team, post DoFP, with Kitty, Colossus and Iceman in supporting roles. Add whoever they want to add but don't make them background characters, please.

Villain: Cassandra Nova, whom I think is an underrated villain. She wiped out Genosha with Sentinels, infiltrated the Shi'ar, and nearly defeated the X-Men all on her own. She is a one man army and more menacing than Apocalypse ever was. If you don't know her check out Grant Morrison's "E is for Extinction" and Joss Whedon's last Astonishing X-Men arc. A female villain would be great to see.

I would cast Glenn Close, she has a creepy angular jawed face/smile. She was also amazing on "Damages" .. conniving, intelligent with slight sociopath tendencies. She has great screen presence and will hold her own against Patrick Stewart.

Avengers:Age of ultron is why i wouldn't want whedon doing phoenix and dark phoenix.

Oh my gosh yaaaas to Cassandra nova. Do you know who I always pictured for her? Julie Andrews. Imagine how twisted it would be to see an evil Julie Andrews?

As for joss Whedon, no thanks. It's a bad idea if every comic book film starts to feel like each other and he has had his time

This franchise and the CBM resurgence itself owes a hell of a lot to Singer so I don't want him totally forced out. But he did also contribute to almost ruining the franchise when he left X3 and the impact of that still hasn't been fixed. I want the guy to be involved for good but I also want to see a new guy take on the main films for a while. If the X-universe is to get bigger with the likes of new Mutants, X-Force etc then I don't mind him trying something different and letting the new guy take on the main core film to shake things up.

I hope he at the very least stays on as producer. The franchise has never been better than when he has been involved.

I think whedon would do a really good Phoenix story his strong suit has always been with strong female leads

Yes, I think he should have at least a consulting role on every film.
