Let's talk deleted scenes (merged)

I've just remember one scene!

what happened to this??

Since the begginig I thought it will be an amazing scene.

All those storyboards are from when the Alcatraz scene happened in the middle of the flick.

I wonder if maybe Wolverine went to the bar after the scene in the woods where Magneto throws him? It would make sense. Maybe he went to go and have a drink and ponder having to step up as a leader. He would then obviously decide to go back and help.

That's exactly what happened in the novelization--his clothes had gotten wrecked when Magneto tossed him, so he went into the bar, got into a huge fight, took the clothes off one of the guys he beat up and left the bar. So that must have been the scene, if they even filmed it.

Also, in the scene where Magneto is cured--that was the scene they were filming in all the set reports, and they all said that Magneto had Wolverine screaming in agony on the ground. That didn't happen at all either. Maybe they did that to throw everyone off?

I will honestly say that despite how cool Angel fighting would be, it's probably a good thing they didnt have the winged rich kid who has probably never fought a day in his life and can fly but doesnt have his Apocalypse-given powers, fight in a scene where it would have been one more thing to keep track of.

It'd be impossible for Warren to take out a whole lot of soldiers without training, but he could take out a few random Brotherhood pawns since they aren't that well versed in fighting either.

All Angel has to do is fly by, pick up some people, fly up and then drop them. He does'nt really need training.

He can do much more than that...

this might have been mentioned but what happened to the scene where Xavier says: "You have no idea what is apon us now.."

also kinberg said there were several instances of storm using her powers that we hadn't seen, but all the times she used her power in the film had basically been already seen in the tv spots/trailers..etc

i still thought the movie was great though!!!!

Well they proablly realese it next year or in two years calling it X-Men 3.5

Dont you lot find it strange that Kitty enters at the 1st floor while Juggernaut jumps 10 meters in the air and gets in on the second? Kitty was supposed to get in first but Juggernaut managed to cut her off a great deal. Thats how it went in my screening anyway

Maybe they want us to believe she did this:

Using her phasing ability, Shadowcat can walk on air. In fact, she can use her ability to walk on the air from the ground to the upper stories of a building as if she were climbing a staircase.

Honestly, this is likely much ado about nothing. There are many valid reasons why some things listed here were cut, and if there was a legit reason why many were cut, why should we start damning Fox already? Even if there is a director's cut of X3, it doesn't mean that it'll automatically make the movie better. Amadeus is proof of that.

Reasons for possible cutting:

-Pacing. Scenes that may sound cool, but slowed down the movie is grounds for cutting. Sure, a fight between Jug and Collossus may sound cool, but when there's already a big chase scene involving him and Kitty, and his "death", the pacing could've/would've suffered if he got involved in yet another fight.

-Too much. The fight at the end was pretty cool, but they were very busy and each shot had a lot going on with other mutants. So a big tidal wave and Angel getting involved in the action probably would be nice, but aren't always needed and could be overkill.

-Odds and ends. A lot of these sound like 5 second shots or moments and aren't always needed. The "We're not kids" speech sounds cool, but within the context of the conversation, could make it go on for a bit too long.

In all, there're a lot of reasons why scenes get cut. I've made a number of short movies and can attest that some stuff that sounds funny/cool doesn't always work. They may be good, but if they don't fit into the overall movie, there's no point keeping them. So while some of these may be good, there's no reason to hate on Fox or Ratner if there was a legit excuse. 'Sides, director's cuts are overrated

The thing is, that everyone assumes that Kitty stays on the ground level as soon as she phases into the building. How do we know where she was when she came in? Surely she could've caught up to him by the time that we saw the scene, I mean, who's the say that there wasn't a flight of stairs right in front of her as soon as she ran in? We didn't see it.

Also, there is also what you pointed out. She could've floated between the floors to save some time, too...We will never know for sure..

Did you get it to work TNC?

Dr. Manhatten,
(what's with the spelling?)

I somewhat agree with your assessment, but the amount of inconsistencies present in the final cut of this movie versus what was going on in all of the trailers, tv clips and actor's own discussions of their roles, is glaringly noticeable.

Where did some of the important music cues go? Look at Jean and Logan's first 'love' scene in the infirmary. Remember the dreamy choir bit heard in early clips? It is present on the soundtrack cd, so why not in the final cut?

What about the scene where Logan meets Jean and Magneto in the forest? There was a nice bit of melodramatic scoring here when he sees Jean (it is also in the final cd score), but in the final cut the music is muted until Magneto "throws" Logan against the tree.

"This is who I am, Bobby". Rogue says this in early teasers, which is likely from an alternate ending for her character. Not in the final cut.

"You might not come back..." Now, Wolverine is reduced to a simple "They're ready." Can you tell me what the kids have done in the preceding 80 minutes since the Danger Room scene that has made them any more "ready" than they were then? (When Wolverine claims to Storm, "They're not ready.") No suspense, no substance in the final cut version. It's therefore an emotionally flat moment. Bad filmmaking.

I could go on and on...

Yes, films this large require many shots and pickups, and are surely edited after debating many different takes of certain scenes. Point is, when such inconsistencies as I mentioned above are occuring, and on as large a scale as they are, it reeks of a "rushed" product, yes, but more importantly it signifies a real indecision in the process of filmmaking, and a rather obvious sign that a networked mentality is not only present, but interfering with any consistent vision that is attempting to break through. The filmmakers' job, in this case, is stuck between not only working within this network of absolutes from all sides, but also delivering a "blockbuster product" that proves successful critically and industrially.

Now somehow, against all odds, Ratner and Fox have delivered a film that is performing at the box office. But that doesn't mean that many intelligent viewers aren't noticing gross inconsistencies not only with the film's relationship to its previous installments (or its source material), but within the film itself.

Now, I suppose there could be all sorts of reasons why your name is Dr. Manhatten; it could be as simple as, some other user has already taken the "correct" spelling name. But I'm also sure you're prepared to give one consistent reason for the choice of name, right? (I don't intend any ill will about this, I'm just trying to make a point...)

Just like this movie should have given some consistency behind all of its motivations and decisions, creative, industrial and thematic.

it also looks like they mightve cut some of the Storm vs. Callisto alcratraz scene since in one of the photos that was released, I saw nothing that resemebled it in the fight between the two.

It sux that they caught Storms awesome tidal wave scene. They probably didnt wanna make her seem to powerful compared to dark phoenix

Ok i have been reading this particular thread carefully and now after hearing the number of scenes that have been edited out of the FINAL movie i am pissed!!!

especially the Collosus vs. juggernaut, Angel fight scenes, Collosus talking and Storm flooding the bad mutants.

I still think the movie was really good (7.5) but I think it would have been AWESOME (10) if they had left the above mentioned scenes in the movie.

If any one is downloading X3 with all those scenes then I beg you please send it to me please because i am 100% sure those scenes will not be added to the DVD.

DAMN YOU FOX!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, most of those scenes were NOT deleted because they weren't even SHOT or completed...

Some of them say they saw those scenes when the screening of X3 was done in some cities.

BTW TNC if you are downloading the regular theatre version then can you please send it to me as well??
