The Dark Knight Lifting the Bat-Bells: Bale's Physique

I'm willing to bet he's got the same physique he had in "American Psycho".

If that was the case and he was in that kind of shape I would be very impressed with it, we all know he is smaller than he was for BB, but I could live with it if he was in his AP type shape, but as Captain Useless stated, Bale has already said he is not in that type of shape for TDK which is to bad.

IMO Bale should get a best supporting nom for 3:10 to Yuma OR a Lead actor nom for Rescue Dawn, I never thought I would see Bale in a Western and he was great in it, it was so unexpected to see him play that type of on screen persona, it is just something as a fan of his that I never thought I would see him in, and his performance in Rescue Dawn is truly amazing, I would be happy if he was nominated for either one.

But I agree Crowe could get a nod for Lead actor for 3:10 but I think he will get it for American Gangster, and again I agree, Ben Foster was a scene taker in 3:10, but I don't think he will get the nod which is a shame.

I think Bale will get a Nom for Lead Actor for Rescue Dawn.

Just saw No Country for Old Men (an excellent film IMO, ending was frustrating though) and Javier Bardem should definitely get a Nom for Best Supporting if not flat out win.

I 100% agree, I think that Bale will get a nom for RD, and again I agree, I think that Javier Bardem has the best supporting Oscar in his hands right now, he was totally amazing IMO and nobody will beat him, it is his year.

Well, I'm not calling anyone a liar, but it would be nice if there was a link or something where Bale stated this. This sort of statement should be found in Batman-On-Film's recent news and it's not. Unless Bale told him in person. Again, not calling anyone a liar, but it is baffling.

That is ok bud, you can call me a liar :cwink: :oldrazz: :woot: , no I will try and find it, it was a while ago so I don't exactly remember, even if he is smaller it really does not bug me, from the very few pics I have seen of Bale he is very, very ripped so I have no worries.

This might be slightly off topic, but I guess it is still to do with the physique. I often wonder why there don't have scenes of Bruce working out in the movie... I mean, in the cartoon, you had it, in MOTP you had him drilling ju-jitsu, and in the comics you would see him in the cave lifting weights, or practicing gymnastic moves.
I would like even if it was a passing shot, to see the gym in the cave, and see ruce working out. It would keep it in a persons mind that his physical prowess isn't just achieved and left... he CONSTANTLY works at it.

I agree.

However, with the time restraints writers, and directors have on them, I'm sure Nolan and company have cut out scenes like this.

On the other hand, we did get glimpses of Bruce's training, and he did do push-ups the morning after his first 'Batman' outing.

I know that doesn't make up for a scene where Alfred walks in to tell Bruce something of importance, or of little importance, to find Bruce just finishing up some form of exercise; but we do have imaginations, and that has to be good enough for now.

Not only have people mentioned when Bale drops down to do pushups but also Burton had a little as well in the first Batman. That scene where Vale sees him hanging upside down at night. A lot of people made me laugh that I talked to because they thought he was hanging upside down to be like a bat. If you watch that scene you can see he is doing some stretches with his arms. Also it's a good and hard workout doing crunches/situps in that position.

I understand the workout you speak off; but Keaton hanging upside down will always mean one thing to me: the man thinks he is a bat.

Thanks Burton.

IMO it was not meant to be training. i dont think that anyone thought about training when they saw that scene.

ALFRED: "How do I look, Master Wayne?"

BRUCE WAYNE: "You look -- right..."

Boo!

He looks more like Spiderman than Batman this time round.:csad:

You liked his BB body frame/muscle?

I kind of like this Batman Beyond like look. Looks more agile and greater mobility. I hope he allows for much greater action scenes with Batman fighting.

What, in that suit?
He won't be able to move.

Bet bale couldn't be bothered to bulk up as much this time. Proably figured theres no point looking buff iun 50 pounds of rubber.

I just want Bale to move like the guy did in the opening chase of the lastest bond film.

You're correct. It had nothing to do with training.

It was actually Keaton's idea. He thought it would be funny. (Saw it in an interview back in the day) That's why it's not in the script.

Yeah... but the new suit looks way more flexible... bet? It is...

Well people that went to the TDK 3 min screening at Wizard World said there was a scene where he was running and jumping from the top of car to car.

His mobility is definitely more noticeable than Batman Begins suit which you could tell from that one scene in Akrham where he is running down the hall.
