The Dark Knight Likes And Dislikes

I was pretty surprised by how many dislikes I came up with when I really thought about it.

Also, I've been saying for some time that this thing might suffer at the box office because it will be darker. Remember the complaints about Batman Returns? Its box office suffered as well.

Nolan is going for the teens and adults, but you don't easily replace that kid revenue.
The times were different then. Kids today are a lot more used to seeing darker programs on TV. I can easily see parents taking kids in the 8-10 year range to see it even if it is dark. Btw, you want to talk about a Batman movie suffering at the box office, look at Batman and Robin. The movie barely made enough money to cover its budget, which is in stark contrast to Batman Returns. While BR wasn't as successful as its predecessor, it still made a killing at the box office.

okay I'll do one...

Likes: Everything I've seen and know so far...

Dislikes: I haven't seen any bats and am starting to think there won't be any in the movie.

Likes: pretty much everything and espicially the JOKER yea he deserves all capitol letters, lol DIS Likes: the run time, i feel it should be longer, all the harvey dent crap, yeah thats gonna get annoying real quick, now i just want to see him start acting psycotic, and i fear that we wont have enough joker in this movie, i mean comeon this was heaths last finished film so they cant just say oh well we will put more joker in the next movie since he wasent in enough of this, but hopefully there is a boat load of mr j in the movie

Holy smokes -- you're right!

Very observant. With all the other candy, I hadn't even noticed.

thanks...i've expressed this before in the concerns thread but everyone seems to think its not important...or that we'll see some if he re-visits the mansion or the cave...but thats a big if:o :batty:

I don`t really like the new "HIT ME" shoot from the comcast feature. I mean it is still awesome but the old one is better.

Well, I'm betting they're just saving some stuff. His ability to use bats to his advantage was one of the things he did already have nailed down, so... escalation? :woot:

Then again, more of this movie does take place during the day.

I'd personally like to see bats swarming through an amusement park.

Likes:
The batsuit- I don't think the legs are as big a deal as people make them out to be, but I do wish the batsuit itself was more organic and the symbol stood out more. However, I like the upper torso, I think it's very sleek and cool.

The Joker's performance: Heath looks like he's going to be awesome!!! I like the fact that in some of the pictures he actually scares me and he looks like he will be frightening.

Batman-Gordon-Dent- I like the trio and I love the fact that Den't character is going to be established.

A bigger spectrum- I love the fact that the movie is going to be shown like a crime drama and they broadened the spectrum and let us see the impact from many more views in the city. I also love the diversity of the cast and the fact that Deebo, Christian Bale, and Michael Jai White are in the same movie.

The new gadgets and the batpod- Love that we will see more of a technological, though still plausible, Batman.

Continuity- I love that in sequels

Theme- I love the theme of escalation and the fact that many of the freaks pop up after Batman's arrival.

Dislikes-

Joker's look- I really hate the look. I hate the rotting makeup and ****. I also hate the fact that his hair is mostly brown. The cut smile also doesn't seem gruesome in most pics to me.

Fake Batmen- I do like to see the impact of Batman on a real city, but I hope they don't detract too much from the story.

The love triangle- For obvious reasons

That is something I haven't thought of, now I will be subconciously looking for bats! As far as the mansion/cave goes, I really hope it is fully functional in the third movie, it would be a shame if it wasn't used to its full extent.

Batman is more of a night character anyway.

It's just weird to imagine modern day Batman in a happy daylight setting.

s, yes yes!!!!!!!!!! thank you for bringing this up. i mentioned this earlier and no one seemed to reply. does anyone think it's an alternate take just like the "Good evening" line from tv spot 2? or do you think well get the HIT ME line from trailer 2 and this line from the imax clip????thoughs and ideas? :woot:

like's

Joker's personality.
What I seen in so far about Bamtan and joker's relationship towards each other
The look of the Batpod
Joker's look

dislikes

The Bat- suit. (i guess batman doesnt mind wearing a bra.)
Too much armor as well. very over the top.
The bat- symbol on the chest (if there is one) its too invisible you cant tell there is one its there at all.
The Batpod's name (just call it the Batcycle)
The realisim again
Joker's make up (not permanent the way it should be)

Gotham's day time never has a happy daylight setting.

It's practically the same exact take, minus the angle. He starts off with a pissed off look before he says his line, and then just looks plain maniacal as he says it. In both takes.

I would have to disagree. It may be the same "Line" but it's hardly the same result. When he says the line in trailer 2 he shakes his head like he's absolutely raving mad....extremely intense. In the imax clip it's nowhere as frightening. Toned down a bit if i do say so. And way to close to Joker's face. I like in t2 where it shows more of his body. Also crook, i was curious...do you think Joker will say this line multiple times? I couldn't understand from your reply if you meant that or not. thanks

Thanks for the vid. Looking at both takes, yeah the one in the trailer is a bit more pronounced because of the head shaking. But still, the same exact delivery imo. Down to the voice tonality and facial expressions.

Doesn't matter to me which they choose.

I vote for #2.

Something the uber geeks can watch for in the film I guess, which take =)

Yes....i sure will be looking for this. I also noticed in the teaser a.k.a. trailer #1 J says "Starting tonight people will die." In the imax clip he says "every day he doesn't people will die." just another small thing for yuns all to dig on! :cwink:
