The Dark Knight Likes And Dislikes

I dont think so man. Its probably gonna be called the batpod :csad:

I have this hope that batpod is actually an acronym of sorts. Seeing as how we have it on film that Alfred says "batpod" that this will in a way soften the already horrible word being uttered.

Have it be something like the Ballistic Arsenal and Transportation Paramilitary Operations Device. Or something like that.

Or Batman Already Takes People Out Dancing would be fine too.

batman ate the pope's other dress.... tee hee

Ehhh what is this SHIELD? Batpod is fine with me.

I dunno, I just don't like "batpod" and agree that the bat- prefix is quite lame. But then again, it's not so bad that I won't see the movie.

Just curious what would you like it to be called? To me Batpod describes it just fine, and although it has the predictable and sometimes laughable bat----- prefix its still a classic description of bat gadgets. Maybe since the "batmobile" is called the tumbler, they could have used the manuverer or the swifter haha idk. :woot:

Dislike the kids in the new t.v. spot.

That's typical for tv spots though, they can't just put all dark and serious things in them, they have to have some ligher/humors things put in, such as the lamborgini joke, to get the general audience, parents, and kids interest.

Something like the first acronym I mentioned, or just simply "The Bike". Or, not even refer to it by a name at all. Give it a codename, like the B22 or some craziness. I understand the bat- prefix is a staple of the mythos, but I find it's one of the sillier aspects myself.

Which I will defend to the death...

We had a shark attack off Perth, he was using shark repellent, apparently screws with their electrical sensory perception. Mmmh shark repellent...ten times tastier. :woot:

How about the Bat jet ski boat?

If Bruce doesn't have a Bat Crime Computer in TDK, I shall cry.

I liked the Adam West version as a kid that computer could do anything. Ask it a question any question, "will Prince Charles become King?" Answer: "Over the Queen's dead body."

Bruce should ask 'Is AMH the Riddler?'

Question: Will AMH be a better Riddler than Jim Carrey?

Ans: God YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question: Is the Ridder a serious threat to Batman?

Ans: No, he's a nerd who's mummy never loved him.

Likes (excluding all the things that I like but that were already present in BB, such as Bale being Batman, Nolan directing, etc...):

- The characters involved
- No Katie Holmes
- The Batsuit
- The blue-ish filter
- The evolution of Batman (moral issues especially)
- The marketing campaign
- Themes (How to fight chaos while maintaining order? The repercussions your choices have...)

Dislikes :

- Maybe too much going on for such a short running time
- trust issues between Gordon and Batman (something I've never liked in the comics or cartoons)
- The BatPod (They might find a good reason for it to be there, but I'll still have issues with the cannons if they fire anything else then rubber bullets or other non-lethal projectiles. Batman does not kill and as such should not be equipped with potentially lethal armament, which is the thing that really made Batman 89 a failure to me)

I also like the fact that, potentially, :

- Love interest may die (I'd really like to see a Batman film without any love interest actually, to show how much his Batman role prevents him from having any of the stuff we "normal people" have

And on the other hand, I may not like this if it happened :

- Death of Two-Face or Scarecrow (I think the only character that "should" die is the Joker, I'd like to see the other two still on the run or locked away at the end of this film, especially since killing them off would really look like the scriptwriters wanted to get rid of them instead of having to write something for them in the next one)
- Bruce Wayne finding a new love interest
- Batman being unmasked by one of the villains (or anybody else, for that matter)

^^^short run time, its rumored to be over 2.5 hours

I think the running-time is still officially supposed to be the same as in Batman Begins, which had less plot points going on.

But I know there are rumours it will be longer, and I sure hope they're true.

I agree I don't like the fact that the Batpod has guns, but Batman 89 had guns on the Batmobile & Batwing...its all about what Batman uses the guns for. I'm reserving judgement on whether I like the Batpod as a whole until I see the reason Batman is using it, I just don't like the design of it. As far as using the "Bat-" prefix, I've always loved it "anti-shark repellant Bat-spray" LOL, I just wished he had some cooler items like "Bat-condoms."

What about the batarangs, the grapple gun, the little explosives that he has? All potentially lethal. Even the tumbler had missiles. Doesnt mean he ll fire at people.

Likes:
The Joker. Everything about him.
The blue tint.
The expansive feel of the landscape.
The cinematography.
The seriousness and complexity with which Dent appears to be handled.

Dislikes:
Get off the ****ing Batpod for a second, Bruce. Please.
The name Batpod, and the bike's "awesomeness" being a source of jokes and adoration like the Tumbler in Begins. The kids in the 4th TV spot are like the cops in Begins. "Wow! What was that?!"

Nolan like every other director before him tries to show the amazement of the common person when he first sets eyes on the superhero.

The "nice ride" and "i gotta get me one of those" were quite bad really. But i think that the kids in the TV spot are a medium to good touch.

The policeman in BB was simply amazed and stunned. Wouldnt anyone in his position do and say the same?
When you see a huge black tank zooming in front of you wouldnt you go "WTF?"
