Live-Action DBZ Set to Shoot in Montreal

You do realize someone would still have to do the voice and the motion capture work.

That's completely different so it was useless to even say that. And plus, I picture someone with a deeper voice than Cillian voicing a CGI Freeza.

Yeah.. right. So anyways..

Cillian Murphy for Freiza. :)

Frieza doesn't even have a deep voice.
He'd sound so off with a voice deeper than Cillian.

Yeah, definitely. Cillian would be the PERFECT Freeza. His acting style and his voice and looks are perfect to bring the Intergalactic Warlord to life!

I've seen Cillian in quite a few creepy roles and he always manages to impress me with his charismatic creepiness. He was really good in "Red Eye" a Freeza worthy performance if I ever saw one. Also, I've heard both Japanese and English versions of Freeza's voice and Cillian is nice median between the two.

At certain points during Batman Begins he has some cool Freeza-esque moments as well. Yeah, CM would be absolutely amazing in that role. :woot:

CILLIAN MURPHY FOR FREEEEEEEEEEEEZA! Haha...

I don't know Joseph Gatt, but he looks like he could be a good Piccolo with Hellboy like make-up.

Would you rather him to be voiced by a girl again? He should have a much deeper voice than in the FUNimation dub, he shouldn't sound like or be voiced by a girl.

No, he shouldn't sound like in the FUNi dub, he should sound like in the Japanese version. Like a snobbish aristocrat. He shouldn't ever have a deep voice unless he's in his bigger monster forms.

He shouldn't have a light or girly voice while in his smaller forms either.

Sorry if you don't like snobbish aristocrat Freezer, but that's what he is like. A deep voice doesn't fit his character. And the Japanese voice didn't sound like a girl. He's was a spoiled aristocrat on a power trip.

The Japanese voice reminded me of one of those Samurai Movies. That what he sounded like, some sort of Shogun.

......

I still want Paul Levesque as Broly if Broly gets his own movie.

Well, let's see what we got so far.

Ray Park - Vegeta
Bill Goldberg - Nappa
Joseph Gatt- Piccolo
Cillian Murphy - Freezer

Those choices actually aren't too shabby.

We should just go ahead and make Morgan Freeman Kami. He's in every other movie made anyway, plus he'd only have to work for like a week. They could probably get him to do it for cheap too.

No, I think Kami should be CGI.

Also, I still want someone like Hugh Jackman for Goku, he's the perfect choice.

And why should Kami be CGI? Just like Piccolo we only need a guy in make up, that way we save time and a lot of money. And what exactly makes Jackman a perfect choice for Goku?

I just picture him being CGI. I think he's the perfect choice because as we've seen in some of his films he can be goofy & funny (that's actually the way he is in real life) & he can look really badass & serious when needed. He could actually portray either Goku or Vegeta.

There are many people who are goofy & funny and real life, and a lot of them probably look the part more than he does.

Ah heck why not. He was an amusing God in Bruce Almighty.

How come you want all the aliens to be CGI? Haha. CGI should only be used when make up is insufficient to handle the job. CGI is acceptable for creatures like the Kraken or Davey Jones from PoC, but characters like Nameks and Freeza are better done with make up because they have no eccentricities which can only be made real with Computer generated Images. Perhaps if Nameks had face tentacles or some sort of odd body structure like Jabba the hutt CGI would be the only way to go...

However, Nameks and Freeza are what you would call "Humanoid" aliens. Thus, they can be portrayed by human actors wearing make up.

Example. Kit Fisto, general human shape, 2 eyes, 2 arms, 2 legs. Easy.

Example #2. Sebulba, his body is odd and can't be done by a normal human being. He walks on his arms, his legs bend weird, and his face is so far from human that a prosthetic mask would make him look like a ninja turtle.

CGI costs an incredible amount of money to produce. The only reason CGI characters are used in Star Wars at all are for 2 reasons only. #1 George Lucas has more money than god and doesn't care how much it cost to make. #2 Those Characters that are CGI only appear for small amount of time unless extremely pivotal to the story.

Nameks and Freeza along with the rest of his army are ALL humanoid aliens, thus they can be easily done with make up. Dragonball Z will have spend its money on building space ships and CGI laser blasts, they shouldn't waste what little money they have on something that can be done far cheaper. Jar Jar binks must have cost like 200k while a piccolo done with make up will cost about 10k maybe less. Thats money that could be spent on a GIANT MONKEY, which I would much rather see.

See below, 3 humanoid aliens all standing together interacting with live actors. This is significantly cheaper than CGI, not to mention, It's more impressive to see living beings to kung fu than to watch a computer try to simulate how a human being looks while doing kung fu, which would be the case in a DBZ movie. :woot:
