who would yall cast as Goku?

Goku is hard to cast the cause the actor has to be able to be comedic without appearing to be trying to be comedic. Also, he has to be able to come off as silly/lovable while at the same time demonstrating superb martial arts skills. Goku has the personality of a playful child so acting skills are a must.

Tom Welling was my pick 4 years ago.
Hugh Jackman is a good actor.

Aside from those 2 no one really springs to mind. They should have a huge casting call to find the perfect Goku.

I mean Welling and Jackman are just the names that were rumored in the past. Off the top of my head I really can't think of anyone. I wouldn't mind if they went with a completely new face. Possibly a great unknown actor with loads of martial arts experience. Someone in the vain of Ray Park, talented, but mostly unknown.

I think this would help the budget as well as to submerse the audience in the story. They'd actually be seeing Goku and Vegeta, not some huge name stars.

I truly believe DBZ if made live action could be the next Pirates of the Carribbean. I mean that movie was based on a theme park ride and it made billions! I'm pretty sure the same writers could turn DBZ into a intergalactic hit as well. I'm seeing it as Star Wars meets Kung Fu Hustle.

I'm surprised that so many are actually looking foward to a live action DBZ?? I don't know why so many are forgetting the worst and biggest set back of this supposed film, and that's none other then FOX. I do not have any faith in this movie with FOX at the helm. FOX has a proven track record with the current studio heards to screw a movie up. Them numb nuts over at FOX couldn't even get the damn FF for right, so do anyone really expect to see a faithfully done DBZ film? DBZ is even more outlandish then F4.

Well said, Nokio. Also, DBZ will be watered down like there's no tomorrow. This film will be geard towards the brats of the world and will just suck. If there is ever a dbz movie, it should be done ala Advent children, period.

Wow. Now that you've brought that to my attention...I think I'll cry now.

After witnessing the atrocious job they did with The F4 I can't help but be terrified for the Z-Gang. However, I think much of the F4 debacle was because of the director. If you get a terrific script and a wonderful director to match, one who values the source material. That director, if he has half a brain do much more than higher a pretty face cause she's popular (Jessica Alba) that director would hire actors who fit the parts, etc.

I say it hinges on the talent behind it, more than the studio. Now where fox could potential F it all up is picking a crappy director, Uwe Boll or something. I hope they go A-List director on this at least. DBZ will need true talent in order to become a terrific film.

I think he'd be great for Freeza. Size doesn't really matter anymore. They can just to camera tricks like in Lord of the Rings to make big actors look smaller.

I guess you're right. I really hope this Movie will get a Casshern treatment though. Any attempt at trying to make it look too realistic will utterly fail. With the heavy fantasy, chinese folklore involved and totally over the top and exaggerated characters, a unique visual style is the only way to go.
