Great Sunday drop for Logan. WOM must be incredible.

Also lol at that box office draw thing. The concept of a box office draw these days is basically a dead concept. Really!

A few pages back on this thread you were saying that Apocalypse hurted the series. So maybe you meant be wrong about those two as well.

It did. But neither Jackman or Stewart were part of Apocalypse. Unless you count Jackman cameo as the role. It was bad bad movie. Not Stand Alone or Origins bad, but it's there. And sooner we forget it exist world will be the better place.

20th Century Fox’s R-rated Logan is set to cross $100M today after a solid Monday of $7.15M which carried Wolverine’s cume to $95.55M.

On average, Monday moviegoing typically eases from Sunday, while Tuesday sees a spike since exhibitors generally offer bargains today. Also helping Logan this week: 19% of all colleges are off on break according to ComScore. In addition to its awesome A- CinemaScore, Logan is the best reviewed X-Men title of all-time at 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, besting the RT of X-Men: Days of Future Past (91% certified fresh) and Deadpool (84% fresh).

After Deadpool ($132.4M), X-Men: The Last Stand ($102.7M), and X-Men: Days of Future Past ($110.6M in four days), Logan is the fourth fastest title in the mutant franchise to cross the century mark.

Among R-rated titles crossing $100M, Logan will match Passion of the Christ in crossing the mark in five days, which is faster than Fifty Shades of Grey (6 days) and 300 (8 days).

thing is it's very unlikely Logan doesn't hit 200 million domesticly.Deadpool, last stand, and DOFP all topped it.

Jackman was in the final trailer of that movie and is the face of the franchise. Generally, it's considered average, not bad. Same with The Last Stand. That film didn't hurt the franchise either considering how Origins had a big opening.

Origins is really the only film that ever hurt the series, considering the next X-Men films besides Deadpool had a smaller audience than the original trilogy. Plus it had the worst legs by far.

Plus, Apocalypse helped set-up major plot points in Logan and is even referenced in the film. They are pretty much tied to each other, the same way The Wolverine was tied to The Last Stand.

The Last Stand isn't Origins, but at least around here, it's still pretty terrible.

Yeah, it's terrible in the eyes of X-Men fans. But to someone who doesn't know the characters they won't care about the deaths. Though everyone would agree that narrative wise it was a disjointed mess.

the fact remains there are even people who like last stand or origins or both.not around here but there exsist.just like surprise there are people who like apocalypse.

with last stand and origins i feel best to describe last stand as mixed film overall with fans.while i am among those who hate it there were things about it people like including kelsey grammer and ellen page.while origins generly is viewed as bad.

last stand didn't hurt origins at all despite it's reception from fans.despite being leaked online it did 85 million opening weekend.origins despite the hate outgrossed both first class and apocalypse.adjusted for inflation origins did 208 million domesticly.hugh when he plays wolverine is a draw.the return of the original cast helped DOFP be biggest flagship X-Men since last stand.which showed the original cast as their X-Men characters is a draw.

The idea apocalypse damaged X-Men is nonesense. If last stand and origins didn't kill intrest then apocalypse sure won't as logan is now proving.

Pretty much, alot of people who got into X-Men through the movies and don't know much about the books or animated shows won't react the same way as the fans do.

Who cares about if I'm wrong or right. Everybody was wrong when Apocalypse underperformed well except for me. And I was nice enough not to gloat.

Maybe it didn't affect Logan. Maybe it would just affect Supernova since unlike Logan, its a direct sequel to Apocalypse? Time will tell.

So the Monday drop is 70%. That's much bigger than The Wolverine's Monday drop. It looks like it's really front loaded.

I'd say $200 million domestic is locked at this point.

Safe to say that. Especially since it will crack $100 today. Though I think marvelrobbin's weird double negative threw you off.

Unless its legs are as bad as Origins, it won't hit $200 million.

Summer vs winter openings. It means nothing.

I wouldn't say it's nothing, but we just don't know yet. X-Men movies starring Hugh have always been front loaded to some degree.

based on openings of other films in franchise it's very likely to hit 200 million.
except for certain other poster it's defently not doom and gloom.

and i was saying for months apocalypse wasn't going to do DOFP business
and both civil war and BVS were going to top Apocalypse.

logan exceeded expections opening weekend.

I know it'll hit 200 million. I predicted it a month ago. My quote that you quoted was my response to Psylockolussus. He made it sound like it's doomed bc it's Sunday to Monday drop is worse than The Wolverines.

...you know...people work on Mondays; more so when it's not summertime. I'm more curious what the film will do this coming weekend.

What? I said it might be really front loaded which is nothing new to X-Men films except for Deadpool. There's no gloom and doom here. 70% is still a big drop though. When does spring break start?

I misunderstood you then, my apologies.
