X-Men 1-XMA are all comicbooks. Logan is set in the "real world" where a variation of these events happened, but not in the same way as the comics. It's all right there in the trailer.

This is just an example of pushing the goaline back.

First it was X1-X3 didn't happen.

Now its just X2-X3 didn't happen

No, with the butterfly effect it's entirely selective, especially when the timetravel you've utilized involves stepping into other universes where the history is different from the start.

Well to be fair other things have changed too, nightcrawler being added to the team changes things abit since no one knew him in X2 and obviously Wolverines origin was changed in Apocalypse because he actually become Weapon X and jean gave him back whatever memory she could which likely didn't happen in OT.

At the very least, we have two concurrent continuities. One is First Class, the other is OT.

I think there is more buzz and hype for Logan then there was for Apocalypse so it won't flop.

it didn't flop and there is no reason why Logan will flop either.

You're seriously comparing a sh***y sequel to DOFP, with no orginal trilogy actors (besides Jackmans cameo), that turned Jennifer "Mystique" Lawrence into the leader of the X-Men, to Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewarts, bloody, gritty, swan song? Please.

I think there is more buzz and hype for Logan then there was for Apocalypse.

I haven't noticed more buzz or hype personally although you could say Logan has had more positive buzz but other then that it will have very different appeal.

And its wolverine so you can automatically expect a certain amount of bank which is why FOX trust him as a solo character.

10 movies and still counting with another 2 and 2 tv shows on the way.

The X-men movies in general have never been huge money makers though. Profitable, yes, but never hit the levels of Spider-man or Batman. Days of Future Past was an outlier, I think that movie was one of those rare perfect storm events that can't easily be replicated. It was a great film that brought back old friends and made all the fans happy by erasing/ fixing the bad movies, and I think that movie benefited greatly from fan and critic word of mouth.

But the X-Men never had that massive, phenomenon movie power with the GA, at least not until Deadpool.

It doesn't need to be accurate to make that money, the dark knight and the dark knight rises did over a billion and they are very questionable and debatable in accuracy.

I am really not surprised that Logan won't be set in the X-Men universe. Fox's lack of commitment and negligence for the franchise has been going for so many years already. They've been messing up with timelines and continuity with literally every X-Men film since Origins: Wolverine.

That being said, I really like the X-Men films. I just don't like the continuity issues with them.

I really hope Logan is great, though. These 2 trailers have really hyped me for the movie.

Exactly. I think people are taking things way out of context. It's definitely still the same universe.
