Marvelrobbins you're "literally" the only person talking about Deadpool on this page. No one's praising or offering disapproval of him on here.
We didn't get the whole broadcast though. I don't see why they would omit Jean's involvement. The more mutants being viewed as heroes the better.
The only people that know about what Jean did would be Moira and the <10 mutants present in that final battle with Apocalypse.
I can see an overall news broadcast where the news would say it was a team effort but not a play by play of which mutant did what ninja kick or throat slash or optic blast.
Why would anyone from that group leak to the press that another mutant handily defeated this maniacal ancient being that tried to bring about armageddon? It might bring peace of mind to some in the human community (that the next time something like Apocalypse comes to wreak havoc, we have someone on our side) but most would be suspicious of such absolute power.
Revealing Jean's Phoenix to the world would just bring about more questions and even suspicions on mutants.
The only logical reason why Xavier and/or Moira would have revealed Magneto's ultimate role in the events is so he's not imprisoned and not hunted down by the humans.
After all his mug was strewn across TV sets attempting to assassinate the POTUS just a decade prior. They had no choice but to name him as a major force in the villain's defeat.
Her role is actually very similar to Captain America in The Avengers. But I don't think Cap overshadowed the other characters.
I mean Cap is viewed as a hero in the eyes of the public, is the reason why SHEILD exists, why The Hulk exists, why the Avengers pushed after the death of Coulson, etc. Mystique may have a shrine at the mansion but Cap has a whole museum to himself on top of being in the history books. He is a far more influential and famous figure in the MCU than Mystique is in the XCU. But that doesn't overshadow the other Avengers.
We are also getting the samething with Wolverine in this movie and he seems to be a far more famous figure than Mystique ever was. But I strongly doubt anyone where thinks Laura will be overshadowed.
This whole downplaying of Mystique's role and screen time in this trilogy just really flies in the face of fans of the other characters that had more minor roles than her, and even just 2 lines and especially those that were mute. I bet most of these fans would be happy of even a 1/10th of the amount of that screen time and apparent importance of the Mystique character given to their character instead.
So why does that affect anyone here?
You're right it shouldn't since this is a different universe.

j/k
So I still have not received my postcard. Anyone else?
