-Set for a March 2017 release
-Will get an IMAX release
-It will be Hugh Jackman's last film as Wolverine :csad:
-Patrick Stewart will appear in the film :woot:
-It will be directed by James Mangold who directed The Wolverine

Highly disappointing that he's a original character for Wolverine's last movie.

Other than that good Height/Weight/Age combo hopefully it's a Phantasm and he's really Omega Red

Holbrook has signed on to star as the chief of security for a global corporation pursuing Jackman’s Wolverine. The film will start shooing in May with James Mangold directing for David James Kelly’s script.

Who dis?

Haven't a clue. Maybe a reworking of Henry Gyrich, Mr. X or an original character. All I hope is it's the best fit for the movie since fans were hoping for more notable Wolverine villains. I hope at least he has decent enough henchmen to take on Wolverine.

I guess I have faith in Mangold..

NEWS!!!

Interesting. They could go a few different ways. A global corporation after Logan could be a reworking of the Reavers. In my mind, at least. He could also still be a reworking of Omega Red or Cyber. Remember, Harada wasn't the Silver Samurai in The Wolverine.

Now, to await news of Liev Schrieber.

Maybe Graydon Creed?

I have reasonable faith in him too. The Wolverine was a solid movie.

That's not encouraging to be honest. That wasn't a strong suit of that film. Changes are necessary, of course, but they should be carefully considered and strive to stay true to the source.

Maybe Graydon Creed?

That could provide great potential. Especially if Liev returned as Sabertooth.

It wasn't the change itself that was the issue, though.

Daken? Bit of a longshot considering he is working for a corporation, but Daken went mercenary for awhile didn't he?

I disagree. They made the Silver Samurai and Harada essentially two different original characters. That just added to a weak third act. Not unlike what happened to Deadpool.

I wouldn't call Deadpool's third act weak.

But, I find the tonal shift of the Samurai fight a lot less dramatic when the full ninja fight is re-inserted.

Holbrook will probably be Mister X, who can lock on to an opponent's nervous system and anticipate their every move.

If they're making this one R rated, they'll be wanting to do the brutal Wolverine/Mister X fight scenes in which Wolverine finally goes into a crazy berserker rage to stop his moves being so neatly predicted.

I've always doubted that there is any real way they can adapt Old Man Logan. It has too many elements they cannot use because of rights, or which wouldn't work on screen (another apocalyptic future; Wolverine killing all the X-Men; Wolverine once again living in the wilderness, etc). It remains to be seen how much of that story, if anything, makes it on to the screen.

At this point, I can't see how Omega Red might factor into this, but it's possible as they tend to pack in lots of other mutants and have various villainous characters all mixed into the plot.

Personaly only thing i have seen them taking from old man logan is an older wolverine.and i doudt he looks much older than he did in future scenes of
DOFP.with Stewart in it in major role it probaly won't take place too much longer after future ending of DOFP.

On twitter some are being predicable only caring if a rogue taken from 1990's animated show will be in this film:whatever:

regardless soon enough we should know who is going to be in this film
apart from cameos.with exception of deadpool every X-men related film since origins tend to have them.

with what is being said on villain seems like he may be out to get wolverine.

He's the white trash guy who robs Amy Dunne in Gone Girl right?

Main Villain? This guy? Okaaay....

Deadpool in Origins. Not the film Deadpool. Loved that film.

Yeah. Like they originally be wanted her to be in the first X-men film. Anna Paquinn herself has expressed wanting to play the role that way if she got the chance to do so again. People want to see the films reflect the source material more. Of course that's obvious, but you say it as though it's somehow wrong. I swear it's as though some Fox fans actually resent anything being like the comic.

Omega Red please!

No more human lead villains please! We already had Stryker/ Yashida.
