I haven't been this in love with a show probably since the start of the streaming era. And of course it's HBO and not streaming so I still have to wait week-to-week.

It's good to be reminded what it's like to actually have "appointment TV" again though, something I'm looking forward to every week. That was starting to seem like a product of a bygone era.

This and the Mando are evil.

I am really, really enjoying it. Extremely well shot, and the dialogue is so good. A lot of inventive ideas I was not expecting, same with the social issues they are covering. A lot of fun with my friend who doesn't know much about Watchmen, and my brother who loves the original book almost as much as me. All the theories we are coming up with. Reminds me of why it is both nice, and crappy to have a week between each episode. I was very happy when my Hooded Justice and Ozy theories came true.

Also I am digging how much it mirrors the original source material, while doing it's own thing. They have their own Rorschach, but not. My only issue is it feels like the plot kind of stops progressing from time to time. Not a problem when you are watching a few in a row. But one at a time? Can be a bit frustrating.

I mean, I'm enjoying Mando as much as the next gal, but it's very much of the streaming generation (practically a long movie in parts), and doesn't have me going "is it Friday yet?" like Watchmen does with Sundays, wondering what brilliance the next episode will have in store. That one's on a whole other level for me. And the plot's been perfectly paced for me, as it feels like it's progressing as the comic did, imo. *shrugs*

I grew up with the comic already out, so I never had to wait for it. Just read the graphic novel, and well it didn't take me 9 hours to get through.

The Mando is my show right now, but then again I am kind of a Star Wars guy. I know, hard to tell.

I am sucker for the direction they have taken it in, and I just love the non-film canon material being brought to live action in abundance. Best parts Rebels and TCW for me, with all the Mandalorian glory. I do agree the Mando feels like a long form flick, though part of me kind of sees it as 4 episodes sliced in half so far.

With The Mando, The Good Place (going to miss it so), Riverdale (my all time guilty pleasure) and Watchmen, I am enjoy television very much right now. And I still have Mrs. Maisel coming next week. I really hope The Witcher lives up to my recent television watching.

I use to love that show so much. Then the 5th season happened, and I kind of checked out. Reading what happened with Fiona makes me realize that was probably a good thing.
