sadly i have the flu

i think i'm coming down with something, or my body is quitting on me. i was in bed almost 18 hours, starting around 430-5 last night

Deep Impact>>>Armageddon
Yeah, too me, it's a way better movie overall. Armageddon is splashier with more and bigger special effects....but Deep Impact has more real heart tugging scenes.

i prefer Deep Impact as well. President Morgan Freeman was awesome, the "take the baby" part made me tear up the first time I saw it, and the scene with Tea Leoni and her father on the beach together at the end, man good stuff.

don't get me wrong, Armageddon was entertaining too, but like you said, it's splashier.

I watched the YMS video on The Fanatic. It definitely looks like one of those movies that takes itself serious but is so bad that it just ends up being a comedy.

I've seen the whole movie, it was an experience.

Zack Snyder posted this on his Vero account:

A 214 minute Snyder Cut! Give me!

At the risk of being off topic (sorry if I am), I’m really new to watching movies in a more dedicated way, so I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations for where I should start.

This is the Lounge so nothing is off topic.

Some classics I'd recommend:

Ben Hur, the 1959 version
Lawrence of Arabia
Frank Capra's films
Casablanca
The Third Man
Rosemary's Baby
The Shining
Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula
The Breakfast Club
Terminator 1&2
Godfather 1 & 2
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Man with No Name Trilogy

The Room (2003)

All questions you have on film will be answered.

One more movie to add to the that list .

Stalker (1979)

Se7en is another must watch.

Some asian films worth watching:

Hero
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Red Cliff (the 288 minute original international cut)

The american cut of Red Cliff is only 148 minutes and severely truncated the story and even changed names of the characters.

This is out the blue, but I'd like to see Ethan Hawke in the MCU somewhere. Just a very underrated talent, maybe as some villain or something.

He's one of a few actors who I think can play The Sentry.

Call me weird... but I think I enjoy watching the cowboys lose as much as I enjoy watching the falcons win.

Watching the Yankees and Red Sox lose is a religious experience for me. It makes me feel more connected to an otherwise cold and remorseless universe.

well well well..... what's a nice little chicken like you doin' in a place like this?

I saw that episode when I was 11, and then had the day at school where the bookmobile parked outside. These two things should not happen in that order.

now imagine what happened on reading rainbow.
