The Dark Knight Returns animated film is my favorite Batman film so far.

TDKR is really good. Still holds up. I also enjoyed Year One, which isn't on many people's list of favorite adaptations.

New Frontier, Year One, TDKR, Flashpoint, JLD, Under the Red Hood...these are all good animated movies.

I love Under The Red Hood, Flashpoint Paradox and TDKR I & II. Hate JL War and TKJ.

Finished Fate Zero today. Watched the first two episodes of Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks afterwards.

The animation and fights are hnnnnngh. Story is also really cool.

Is that him in Gotham by Gaslight? Unfortunately they don't mention the voice actors in the video.
I don't think it was officially announced, but it does sound a lot like him and all the fanboy sites are claiming it is.

The only official cast member is Jennifer Carpenter (of Dexter fame) who's voicing Selina.

I tried a few episodes of the first Fate Stay Night series, couldn't get into it. I heard that Zero and Unlimited Blade Works are massive improvements, but I'm still not interested in trying to get into the prequel and the sequel.

Why is no one talking about James Cameron's remarks on Wonder Woman?? Come on nao. Get on with it. :ninja: :ninja:

Calls Wonder Woman a step backwards

“All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood’s been doing over ‘Wonder Woman’ has been so misguided,” Cameron told The Guardian. “She’s an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing! I’m not saying I didn’t like the movie, but to me, it’s a step backwards.”

Then proceeds to talk about how he does female characters better,

“Sarah Connor was not a beauty icon,” he said. “She was strong, she was troubled, she was a terrible mother and she earned the respect of the audience through pure grit. And to me, [the benefit of characters like Sarah] is so obvious. I mean, half the audience is female!”

“There are many women in power in Hollywood, and they do get to guide and shape what films get made,” he said. “I think — no, I can’t account for it. Because how many times do I have to demonstrate the same thing over again? I feel like I’m shouting in a wind tunnel!”

LOL all the meltdown from Reeves' comment yesterday.

lol like he didn't objectify Kate Winslet :sly:

he sounds like he wants a "de-constructed" superheroine.

Lol at Cameron, dude said in an interview with Playboy about Neytiri (the blue cat lady) that he told himself from the beginning that “She’s got to have ****” even if it doesn't make sense for her specie. He also said that a Playboy centerfold with her would be "a good idea"...so yeah, he's an hypocrite.

I don't know if I can post the link to the article.

Eh, I can get where Cameron is coming from. I think I can at least. My biggest criticism of that film has always been the lack of consequences. Wondie is just always right. Even when it looks like she's wrong, she still ends up being right. I mean, I think it's good that women have that sorta representation in film, because men have been getting these kinda characters for years. And in a post-"Grab her by the *****." world, I'd say that's an important thing. As a film though, it just leaves a lot to be desired for me. I like to see my protagonists suffer and be wrong and see the ramifications of that wrongness.

I would not say she was objectified in the film though, but I can't tell if he meant the film specifically or the character overall.

I'm not a huge fan of WW, but Cameron's comments are way off-base here. Young women having 'beauty icons' as role models isn't a bad thing in and of itself. It's only when they aren't exposed to other more complex and nuanced characters that this kind of thing becomes a problem. In short, the mere existence of one type doesn't have to cancel out the other.

LOL don't have time to post links but some drama between BOF, Batman News, Mark Hughes and Sean Gerber, check the twitters

I haven't seen much of UBW because I thought the story left quite a lot to be desired even if the production value was still impressive. Fate/Zero has often and aptly been phrased as the "GoT of anime".
