I try to stay off twitter but some of these just make my day. Kind of sad but still funny at the same time.

There is a lot of truth in this image.

WW does not deserve one of the major Oscars (best picture, best director, best actor). It just doesn't.

I'm probably one of those Nolan dude bro fans(not of the most insane though) and I'd like to see Jenkins get an Oscar win over him..

I was gonna say you weren't...

lol If nothing else, just to see the social media meltdown. I get a huge kick out of those.

but then I got to this point so you may be.

Still I don't think you would randomly search twitter and jump in to Nolan's "defense" in a situation where someone writes 'Dunkirk is amazing but I'm glad there was no romance subplot because Nolan doesn't write such subplots well'. I did and several young, confused "men" immediately had to tweet at me because I attacked Chris.

WW is a very good film but no more (major) Oscar worthy than any other top superhero film outside of TDK. I'm pretty sure even the most hardcore fans of the film know that underneath but also are aware that because it's a good film and topical on certain issues it could be lobbied towards getting an Oscar if enough fuss is made.

I never felt like Oscars were about "deserve".

I can't watch the Netflix shows either, they're sooo boring not my cup of tea it feels like an art house film which again not a big fan of. Scenes are drawn out for way too long. I remember that's when I stopped watching dd, that church scene where he's talking to the priest asking forgiveness for what he's going to do that scene went on far too long for me to bare so yeah no Netflix shows for me.

Getting an Oscar isn't just about deserving it, true. Otherwise there would be no need to be campaigning and doing so would make no difference.

Yeah, if you couldn't get through DD, the Netflix shows definitely aren't for you (as that's as good as it gets for now ;)).

The oscars are overrated anyway I never understood why people care about them so much it's just a bunch rich Hollywood stars patting themselves on the back for accepting millions of dollars to stand in front of a camera and pretend.

Exactly when they said that it was the best of the bunch I was like yeah no thank you then *skip*

I agree that the Oscars are more political than anything, but you have to admit that the movies they normally nominate are some of the best ones in that year. They're not nominating Transformers because Bay payed them in some backroom deal.

Like with anything else, it's needless to say there's plenty of crazy fans on social media that attack you for absolutely no reason. I don't take those outbursts seriously, that's why I said I get a kick out of their meltdowns. "Let them fight" and all that jazz. The Tarantino stans are probably worse than even the most hardcore Nolan worshipers.

The Amazon that gets hit with the bullet in the opening battle seriously looks like a PS3 cutscene. Inexcusably bad CGI. Like scorpion king Dwayne Johnson bad.

You're over exaggerating it's not that bad

Didn't they take the CG assets for Ares from Scorpion King? :o

Fair enough lol.

I wonder exactly how much Bay would have to pay to get a Best Film Oscar for Age of Extinction.

I dont believe anyone said anything extreme like that.

I usually check out all the oscar nominated movies(best director/picture), because they tend to be good movies.

As far as I'm concerned, the Academy can nominate whatever they want for whatever reason they want. What they should not do is have some gated millionaires preach to ordinary people watching at home about morality or acceptance, when they never have to deal with anything they like to virtue-signal about. Hollywood has always been one of the most corrupt and bigoted industries in the world, they have no moral high ground to preach about any of these sensitive issues.

so just finished watching Death Note on Netflix.
didn't like it.

I really like Wonder Woman movie but I don't want Wonder Woman to get nominations for 'Best Director', 'Best Picture' and 'Best Actor' category, as it does not deserve them and it would just invite more backlash and hatred from those who hate -

1. Wonder Woman movie.
2. Wonder Woman as a character (remember UN women staffers ?)
3. Hate Gal Gadot.
4. Hate DC movies.

I had enough of this whole 'hate business'. I would be happy if the movie gets nominated in some technical category like for 'Costume designing' or 'Sound mixing'. If it doesn't get any, I don't care.

It does but it won't get it :( On the bright side it has the award of my heart and devotion for eternity :funny:

I've been putting off re-watching it on Blu-Ray. Can't bear to have my heart broken again. Especially at that cross scene when the music swells. Gah. :csad:
