It's good, though it also has the typical anime problems like over exposition. Oh and it loses a lot of drive towards the last quarter. But it's a really cool and intense cat and mouse anime.

The movie on the other hand should be regarded as a tutorial on how to adapt something in a way that leaves out everything that is good while putting in idiotic subplots and dumbing down every main single character. Oh, and making every death as graphic as possible for bonus edgy points.

I have a friend who has auditioned to English dub those japanese adult themed anime. lol

Lawd, the Deathnote Netflix movie is beyond bad. They must have been high on all kinds of stuff.

That's disappointing to hear, as I was looking forward it. I can't say that I'm surprised, though.

If you want to see Margaret Qualley, you're better off watching The Leftovers. Excellent show, the final season notwithstanding.

Annoyinhnnngh. :o

The thing is, sure, condensing so much stuff into a 1:40 hour film is not an easy task and people who know and like the source material probably will have more than one nitpick.

But goddamn, at least keep a reasonable amount of the important characters' personal traits and dynamics that make them interesting in the first place.

Rant over. I just think that this definitly could have worked with the right creative choices and direction.

The new Game of Trones soundtrack is available on ITUNES. I'm listening to it right now.
Track 22 ("Truth") is amazing and it's probably
Jon and Dany's theme. My r/freefolk brethrens now what I'm talking about :sly:
Someone at WB should get Ramin Djawadi on board with the DCEU. He is Hans Zimmer's protégé after all.

Random question for my fellow comic geeks. I want to start getting into Teen Titans, what are the good classic, or modern, runs/ trades I should pick up?

The Judas contract Arc and everything else by George Pérez.

Another disappointing American adaption of anime shouldn't be disappointing by now, we all know it is more than likely to be bad and unfaithful to the source material.

So Wingard has premature fappanation and lost his mojo. And this is the guy who is going to take on Kong and the giant lizard movie. It has been said before of white bros simply sliding into directing jobs, but goddamn. He fits that mold to me.

I'm hoping DC can grab Fede Alvarez and give him any movie he wants.

He did the Iron Man soundtrack

Why bother adapting in that case? :csad:

never seen Death Note anime or manga but Netflix version was just bad movie.
it was amazing to see they somehow skip through all of the most interesting parts though lol

Light's dad putting L in a headlock at the dinner table got me laughing out loud.

I rewatched the Supergirl S2 finale this morning and it was better than I remembered. First time I watched it I was so annoyed about the outcome of the Supergirl fight (well actually the dialogue that followed) that I think it ruined my enjoyment of the rest of the episode. But watching it this time I noticed how throwaway that dialogue after the fight was. While it still bothers me it didn't dominate my emotions watching this time. I was able to appreciate what the episode offered from Superman. He guides Kara towards her fight with Rhea and the moment he takes out that Daxamite "at least you tried" is one of the best live-action Superman moments ever. I no longer feel the anger towards the finale as I did and I really hope Tyler Hoechlin returns in Season 3.

The soundtrack is nowhere near the level of other ones, though. There are some good pieces but Ramin did much better job on Westworld, it feels like he is just going through the motions now, much like most people who do GoT

And yes Truth is
