Justice League Lounge of Justice - Part 83

I remember hearing this complaint when it came out, and it never really bothered me. I guess because if I were to reverse the scenario, and resources my people desperately needed were on a planet that was otherwise covered in 70% molten lava or poisonous gas or something, I'd still believe if was worth going if options were sufficiently limited. If they were even here for resources, that is.

I haven't seen it in at least 10 years, though, so I'm not necessarily denying it's dumb AF, lol.

To each his own, but I ain't following you to no lava planet. ;)

But even besides that, the movie's plot is nonsensical. Lawd, did I groan when the "twist" happens and its that Mel's wife's last words were a premonition telling Joaquin Pheonix to SWING A DAMN BAT at the aliens. I'm--I'm sorry, what? I'm not a stickler for script contrivances in movies usually but to me that was just plain B.A.D. Like, you would get an F in film school if you turned that script in bad.

It's alright, I shall be the hero you need, if not the one you deserve.

Ok yeah, even my young self found that one to be a bit of a groaner, lol.

Watched Signs for the first time in 15 years. Movie is dumb AF. I love how these aliens' plan was to invade a planet that is predominantly water which is also their weakness.

As Tony Stark would say, "Not a great plan."

Still loved that movie.

Hey, maybe they had to leave their planet because it was dying and Earth was the closest one to them. They didn't have enough time to do their research. :thf:

Shyamalan should bring back these aliens as the twist in Glass. And then there could be another twist where Bruce Willis' character is actually one of these aliens which is why his weakness is also water.

Booyah.

I actually think the first part is cool. One of those good guy/bad guy battles that get broken up by an even bigger threat and they have to form an unlikely alliance to succeed. But their weakness is water, as is Dunn's, so Mr. Glass' brilliance will become even more important. Genius. I think.

Guys...this is awesome, can't wait for this next week. :)

Awesome. Someone here pointed out that this so far looks like they will focus on the main heroes and less on the side stories and drama. Last year's also dealt with a marriage, a marriage proposal, people being upset with Barry (was that last year, can't remember), and other baggage. To get the most mileage, let this mostly be a standalone in that very little drama outside this story be involved unless it adds to the story. You only have so much space, make it count.

The CW shows are embracing the crazy with these crossovers and I am totally in

Not going back to watching 23 episodes of filler a year, but count me in for all the crossover stuff.

I think these days my relationship with the CW shows is definitely love/hate, but I'm super pumped for the crossover; I just hope they get a little more creative with the big battles, I rewatched a bit of the last one, and to have all of them (of whom have - supposedly - very different power levels) charging and engaging enemies with the same level of difficulty was always meh to me, but less heroes means more shining time!

That’s why I’m glad the Legends are sitting this one out. They tend to lead to overcrowding, especially in the final acts of these things, IMO. I’d much rather spend more time with Supes and Lois than see that screen time spent giving each Legend some funny quips and a moment to shine in the action beats.

Just saw The Favourite. Loved it. I REALLY wonder how they're gonna submit these actresses for the Oscar because all 3 ladies are leads to me. But whatever category Olivia Colman ends up in, she deserves to win, imo.

I think this crossover could potentially lead to a Tyler Loechlin Supes series if the reception goes well.
