Justice League Lounge of Justice - Part 84

In these two ideas they are similar, but their execution is completely different. Batman Beyond is without doubt a continuation with a different character in the future of the world we got used to since 1992. Spider-Man Unlimited is set in an alternate Earth of an alternate cartoon Earth (that line sounds too needlessly complicated, even for people immersed in comic book science) that gave the impression to some people that it is a loose continuation, but the more you watch it the more inclined you believe it is not a continuation.
My impression was the show took place entirely on that, so he was stuck there encountering not just totally original characters but elseworlds versions of the characters he knew.
What were the continuity inconsistencies, as I never fully watched either?

Second viewing, just as happy as the first time.

I loved this movie, the third act alone is some of the best in the genre and a total eye-gasm; the script is simple and direct and the story borderline predictable, but who cares honestly?? This is Arthurian legend through and through; the hero who has to rise to be a king is one of the oldest stories in human history and part of Aquaman's story and here is shown as it should be.

This is easily one of the most beautiful looking CB (or movies, for that matter) in ages, and the way they translated so much imagery and essence from the comics is just insane.

Funny thing, I've seen lots of comments of how the movie could fall perfectly in line with the continuity of the Snyder cut (and from everything I've seen and gathered, that's true); the funny thing is that is has actual - although minor - discrepancies with the theatrical cut of JL...

For those who haven't seen it yet and don't wanna know (I always suggest avoiding spoilers):
In the TC of JL, when Arthur and Mera meet, he shows himself resentful of his mother leaving him (note, that scene is in great part reshoots), in Aquaman we're shown that from a young age he has blamed Atlantis for the death of his mother, while showing no resentment towards her, only missing her.

I don't know about continuity inconsistency, I know that it's not what I said.
Batman Beyond is solidly consistent with the rest of the DCAU. If there is one mistake it might be that they made Barbra look much younger than Bruce compared to their past selves.

As for the Spider-Man cartoons; Unlimited opens with Venom and Carnage being buddy buddy and are not trapped in the portal Iron Man trapped them in the 90s cartoon.

You're right about that spoiler bit.

yowzers those 90s marvel toons really went places. I'd say they escaped even if that's never shown how.

How does anyone expect an Aquaman movie to not be full of CGI? Especially one where Atlantis is a primary location? And it was top notch CGI, we’re talking. Some of the best I’ve recently seen.

Complaining for the sake of complaining, gotta laugh at it.
I do wonder if they will use this same complaint when the eventual live-action Little Mermaid happens. That will tell you a lot about the media bias towards Disney vs WB.

Venom and Carnage hated each other even before the symbiotes bonded back with Eddie Brock and Cletus Kassidy.
Unlimited never mentioned anything about Dormammu and Iron Man, it also acts like Reed Richards and Spidey were well known acquaintances and friends long before Secret Wars arc from season five of the 90s cartoon.

So never try to consider Unlimited a continuation of the cartoon preceding it, you will only shake your head relentlessly.

I hated that Marvel Animated Universe, so no skin off my back eitherway

Here's the funny thing about it; none of the cartoons share the same space or world. Guest appearing is just for the sake of making a guest appearance.
The X-Men episodes in that Spider-Man cartoon is the closest thing you got to a shared world given that they used the same team made popular by the cartoon around that time, the theme, and the voice cast.
Hulk is the key to telling these shows are set apart, given how he has a secret rage problem in Iron Man and Fantastic Four, and is known to be Doctor Banner in his solo cartoon.
I enjoy their Spider-Man cartoons of that decade, and the X-Men cartoon to a lesser extent. The rest are trash.

I mean you just can't shoot underwater.

I know nothing about the books or movie, but I just assumed it was Hugo Weaving playing the green skeleton dude... turns out it was Stephen Lang!

Yeah Lang was great in it. If only the movie focused more on him and the main girl.

Good sign at the theater this weekend was the audience absolutely loved the Shazam trailer. Everyone lost at it at phone charging gag. I think this one is gonna connect with a lot of people.

She's been around so long, I could have sworn she was older.

In a way, she was kinda one of the first female action stars. What other woman was leading so many of her own big budget movies? One can kinda point to Jolie with Tomb Raider and Wanted for a bit, but Milla got there first.
