Since Batman is now a fugitive and murderer in the eyes of Gotham and the rest of the world, how will Bruce Wayne/Batman get his gadgets and equipment? I highly doubt Lucius Fox will continue to supply him...

1) Lucious Fox: knows Bruce is innocent because he overheard Gordon and Batman at the end of the film through the cell phone sonar imaging device and through Batman's cowl earpiece

-OR-

2) Steals them directly from Applied Sciences Division

-OR-

3) Orders them from different locations all over the world under the disguise of dummy corprations

-OR-

4)
No where. He manages to re-use his current equipment

I think that things will be shaky with them throughout the movie, forcing Bruce to rely on his own genius a little bit more, and then Batman will redeem himself in the eyes of Lucius as well as the rest of Gotham. Although I do think that Lucius will still play a helpful role, despite his feelings.

The smile says yes he'll keep working with Bruce.

Lucius threated to quit as long as Bruce had that machine, but the machine was destroyed at the end. Fox'll stay at Wayne Enterprises.

One thing i'm hoping though, is that since Bruce obviously needs a new batmobile, he'll build this one himself.

What about if the police are after Batman? Will Lucius still aid Bruce?

Did you not watch Batman Begins?

I'm talking about the ramifications from the conversation between Batman and Gordon at the very end of the film. It seems that Gotham City will treat Batman differently than in BB.

He's seen how far Wayne will go and expressed disapproval. Its going to be interesting to see what happens when Lucius learns Batman is now being hunted for murder.

I think people are taking the fugitive thing to far. It's not like Bruce Wayne has to go into hiding. He was already an illegal vigilante. He'll just come down from the hero pedestal to many of Gotham's citizens and there will probably still be debate about it given that four of the dead were mobsters and a dirty cop.

There is very important part in that final conversation that goes something like this:

Gordon: "they'll hunt you"

Batman: "you'll hunt me"

The guy running GPD is still Batman's closest ally and knows the truth.

mr wayne if i knew you were taking the tumbler out for them joy rides i would have never given it to you

I pick 4. Batman goes Green.

1) He knows he is innocent. He trusts Bruce and I am sure he explained everything to him.

2) He owns friggin Wayne Enterprises...it is his own stuff...he doesn't need to steal it:huh:

3) Again...why would he order stuff when he has it all in his basement?

4) HAHAHA someone said Batman goes green:woot:

I don't think the rest of the world cares.

The situation with Dent and Batman is confined to Gotham City. No one outside of there is really going to care much about Dent, and Batman is still an unseen figure by 99.9% of the general population, who already see him as a vigilante.

It's true that Wayne could just take what he wants from Applied Sciences, but we've seen Lucius implicitly helping him before in both films (the antidote in BB, the new suit in TDK). Fox knows what Wayne is doing, and seems to have made his choice to stick with him.

Fox was smiling (or at the very least, smirking) at the end when the machine terminated. He knew Wayne wouldn't keep it running, because they both have moral limits (in spite of what Wayne says earlier in the film about limits).

He'll still be helping him out.

Why does this thread say R.I.P.? Fox didn't die...

When I read the title of this, I thought M.Freeman had died.

Nolan hasn't officially stated whether Fox was able to listen in on the conversation between Gordon and Batman at the end of the film.

It is an allusion to Lucius role as "Q" was in the James Bond series. It seems that after the events of TDK (Batman is a murderer/fugitive), Lucius may no longer supply Bruce with his gear. Therefore, Fox's role as "Q" can now "R.I.P." Also, the "R.I.P." is a reference to the current comic series, Batman R.I.P.

I think it's ridiculous to think Bruce wouldn't tell Fox that he is NOT a murderer and explain to him the truth. Fox and Rachel were as much allies as Alfred and Gordon. There's no reason why Bruce wouldn't tell Fox what really went down between him, Harvey, and Gordon. So Fox will still be working with Bruce.

Exactly what I think.

Nolan doesn't have to officially state something that is obvious. Lucius and Bruce are good friends. Bruce would explain things to Lucius...not that hard to figure out.

How would Lucius no longer supply Bruce his own gear that he already owns:huh:

Lucius is out as Q, I agree. He can't trust Bruce anymore, so that's it. Bruce will cross lines that Lucius can't. Game over. There's no 'explaining' that.

That said, there should be a fair amount of useful equipment in there that hasn't been used yet. Wayne Enterprises could employ a 'Harold' of sorts to tinker the stuff into a more bat-useful form.

Maybe once a movie, Lucius could 'throw him a bone' and work out the Batboat or what have you.
