The ending was more bittersweet for me, but I felt Luke's arc found a strong resolution by the end of the season which will definitely carry into the Defenders. Accepting the cost of whatever it takes to "move forward".

Thats really the beauty of this Netflix series. In about a year we're gonna see these guys all come together, its gonna be real interesting to see Luke interact with Matt and Danny Rand and vice versa. I kinda wish Luke and Danny were established friends though but I'm sure they'll grow that relationship in Defenders.
Exactly, love how it's all coming together with one hugely successful series into an even better 2nd season, a 2nd successful series and now our 3rd of 4 Defenders already out. I'd kind of given up on Marvel's TV plans after the first few episodes of AoS but they are on fire again now.

I've seen people say they'd love to have seen see Murdock or JJ, etc, but Marvel aren't going to take away the juice and dilute the impact of seeing these characters come together for the first time (aside from Luke and JJ) in the Lollapalooza event known as the Defenders. I wouldn't want that either.

I had no problem with the ending, in fact I loved it. What's wrong with the unknown? It just adds more mystery for what's to come from my perspective.

Except Luke Cage and Jessica Jones already appeared together in Jessica Jones. So...I mean...

True, but I really wouldn't want much more then that. The more we see them together before the Defenders the less it leaves to the imagination before the show arrives. That anticipation of seeing them all come together (a la the Avengers) is a marketers dream. Like I said, they don't want to mess with that hype and dilute the "main event"

I just can't see how a one episode appearance by Matt Murdock would've spoiled the Defenders.

I think the Defenders series just wants the honor of getting to show everybody meeting for the first time (except Luke/Jess, obviously). That's a big part of the fun for that series. I mean, imagine The Avengers with those scenes removed. Not half as fun.

That said, they could've had Matt cameo without actually meeting Luke or something.

Luke Cage is easily my new favorite Netflix show

I have the last couple of episodes saved for next weekend, but I can already say that this show's first season is better than Jessica Jones or Daredevil's first season. Those shows had a filler stretches in the middle that LC has avoided. I only hope that its ending is more like DD than JJ.

Uh keep in mind that Foggy no longer works at Nelson and Murdock. He works for Jeryn Hogarth now.

Also Jeryn Hogarth wants to represent people with superpowers and vigilantes now. This would've been the perfect opportunity for her or Foggy to step in. At least Claire sort of knows Foggy at least.

I thought there was going to be a Danny Rand cameo in Luke Cage, or will it be Misty that connects those shows together? Because I really wouldn't mind seeing Simone again so soon. Really.... For real... Honestly.
yeah I think they plan for a meet up in ether his own series or more likely the defenders man. they already stated that misty knight and colleen wing will make an appearance in the defender's and be apart of it. and I'm sure her detective and interrogation skill's will be of use there too.

any way I did say I enjoyed the early half of the series and after 4v episode in I saw the slide . but over all I still enjoyed this series. and Luke cage early years he wasn't that overly a top tier character and his villain were overly showcased alot ether. beside sabertooth who be came wolverine nemesis later after his debute in the books.

I know they want to do it like the avengers on the small screen but I hope they don't over do it. like the actor that plays colson said the avengers are Deva's ( they are all mentally self important) and this is why they showcasing these infighting like in civil war. I hope the defenders are different.

other wasthis will over done and over used thing with all and any super team and it'll be come very tiresome to the tv public if not careful.

that may not be excuse for the show . but if were' looking character like killgrave which had alot of inspiration from the books of Jessica Jones that guy was sick mother.....

anyways these day's marvel at least tv wise may be want to be different in how they do their ending in not have any sort of classic sort of ending that we may have for a hero.

I do look forward to what the defenders have to offer us.

I watched the last 5 episodes again tonight and they were much more enjoyable for me. I liked them the first time, but I got into the Diamondback arc MUCH more tonight. I think watching 13 episodes over an 18 hour period was probably not the best decision for me. I was numb by the end. When the dust settles I'll probably like this show more then I rated it in the other thread. Will probably bump my 7.5 to an 8.

For me it's:
Don't have them repeatedly reference Matt, if he's not going to actually appear. It just got annoying after awhile imo. Also I'm REALLY not looking forward to them potentially having to waste time in Defenders just getting Luke out of jail again.

I totally agree with this.

I think there's a lot of depth to this show that some people are missing because they might not be familiar with the things being referenced and some of the parallels being drawn. The show draws heavily from actual history and even includes some actual historical figures (Dapper Dan, Fab 5 Freddy). People are focused on all the connections to the comics and other netflix shows that they're missing all the other stuff.

This show however had some of the worst fight choreography i've seen on any show in a long time.:(

Agreed. Pappy Mason, Azie Faison, Donald Goines novels, ect. This show is so hood in the best ways possible.

Very much agreed. This show is full of cultural throwbacks; historical and factual references to the real world and for that alone makes it the most authentic of tge Marvel/Netflix shows. It's quite apparent that this show has legitimately gone over some people's heads. However, the fights might not be as flashy as DD and there's definitely room for improvement with fight choreography but with everything else the show has to offer, the fights are a mild nitpick. In any case, this is a great show and a huge win for Marvel/Netflix.

Well, Luke is actually an important part of Jessica's story. Jessica on the other hand isn't an important part of Luke's story. I think sometimes people forget that Jessica is a relatively new character while Luke has been around since the 70's.

One thing I loved about this series was that Claire played a bigger role in it than she did in any other Netflix series. Claire Temple was always a Luke Cage character, so it makes sense that she'd be part of his story more than any of the other characters.

Speaking of the Claire/Luke connection: Daredevil has sex with Luke's ex (from the comics) and Luke has sex with Iron Fist's ex (from the comics). I guess Danny will have to sleep with one of Punisher's former comic book flames to keep the trend going, heh.
