What do you guys think of Hardy's accent?

Panties were dropped.

Sounds good to me. With that accent, his voice kinda reminds me of Ray Winstone's.

I don't about you guys, but the moment where Max talks about how he doesn't know who's crazy just gave me chills. The music definitely helped.

I am a big fan of the music and dialogue there. Beautiful really.

Don't read YouTube comments or random tweets about the movie:

"It's ripping off Borderlands!"

"So much CGI! Why can't it be like the old movies!"

Both of those comments should be expected. One is the usual nonsense from people too young to know what they are talking about and the other comes from people who should be old enough to know better. SSDD.

Quite literally, opposite land. :funny:

The guitar player/sh**-ton of amplifiers scene seems a bit out of place in a Mad Max movie IMO. It looks super-cool, but - in a world where fuel/power supplies are extremely limited - I find it hard to believe someone would waste resources in powering a massive set of amps to play a guitar. What's the point? Hopefully it's not just been put in to 'wow' the audience.

Maybe it just seems strange out of context, and in the movie it'll make perfect sense (??)

Meh, it seems like fairly standard issue Mad Max campy weirdness to me.

From memory, the campy weirdness in the previous films was usually at least partly-realistic within that world. The guitar player and huge amp/truck thing is pretty illogical and kind of looks like they just turned the 'craziness' dial up several notches for no real reason... hopefully I'm wrong. Kinda makes the post-apocalyptic, scavenge-to-survive aspect of Mad Max seem laughable if a guy has so much power to waste on a giant guitar rig

Maybe the villain is bat**** crazy.

I'm assuming Nux gets captured, then ends up bonding with the girls.

isn't it illegal to mention lame bands from the late 90's?

Listening to Hardy's and Hoult's accents, and with Charlize doing an American accent, it makes me wonder if this movie isn't necessarily set in Australia like the other films. Perhaps this Max's origins are intentionally ambiguous. And if all the oceans dried up, then the whole world would look like one huge desert.

I expect it'll just be ambiguous. Hardy and Hoult seem to be talking deliberately more Australian though.
