I love how serious and unhappy they look when the cameras are rolling and then they turn chatty and all smiley when it's not rolling.

My guess is they're playing an unhappy married couple and Bale's character cheats on her with Natalia, Imogen, Isabel, etc.

I wonder where they are supposed to be in the movie? They're surrounded by models in the pics and in some pics you see Bale's character checking them out and Cate's character catching him.

Yeah, that last picture i posted it's pretty obvious he's checking the model out bigtime lol. Your theory about them being married sounds plausible.

I dunno, but i got the sister vibe from Imogen lol. Of course, i could be dead wrong since i dont know squat about this . I still wonder what Wes' role is exactly, cause at times they seem brotherly but at times it looks like something else. Could Bale be bi in this movie? lol i'm so confused!

I think this film is actually a Bruce Wayne movie about all the women he's banged.....I mean romanced and wooed.

COnsidering Malick's films really have a "What the hell is the movie about " reputation , i think this might be one case where you could basically explain the entire movie in one sentence

I get the feeling Bentley's character could be dead. Going by the wiki info, Bale's character feels he must go from person to person to be happy, yet he is followed around by the ghost of his possibly brother who reminds him of stuff from the past. Those first two photos kind of look like it. Or, they haven't seen eachother in a long time and he's just coming back in his life. Bale's character is successful but feels unfulilled, and Bentley is at rock bottom and comes to him after years apart.

And no matter what, nothing from this movie will be more enjoyable than seeing all of these pictures of Bale doing random things.

Bale doesn't look happy with Wes. Brother or friend, I get the feeling he's done something to piss Bale off.

Theory: Bale *is* married to Cate; Bale is a philandering man-****; Wes is his brother or bro, and Wes secretly has an affair with Cate; Bale gets pissed off. That's the way most adulterers are IRL --- it's "all right" for *them* to screw around on their spouse, but god forbid their wives do the same.

It seems that the only times Bale's character really looked "happy" is when he was with Natalie's character and when he was at the beach with Wes' character. Someone at another forum pointed out that at the beach scenes, Natalie was wearing a ring while Bale wasn't. Both Bale and Cate weren't wearing rings in both their scenes as well. I can see Imogen's character being a sibling. They don't look that romantic. At least not like when he was with Natalie.

I like the idea that Wes might just be dead or just a memory.

Obviously the star of the movie. The new dinosaur! I bet Bale and Wes were thinking: "Uhhh... WTF?"

I watched Tree of Life again last night and some of the pics we've been seeing reminded me of that scene where everyone's (Mr. O'Brien, Mrs. O'Brien, young Jack, old Jack, etc.) at the beach and they're all just wandering around, touching each other, bumping into each other without really acknowledging them and all that.

You can see Bale checking out the ladies. In some parts, Cate walked past him like she didn't even know him. There's some BTS stuff too of them chatting with Terry and Chivo.
