I really wish that they got Alexander Skargaard instead of Hammer. I don't even think Hammer look ethnically Russian, if that makes sense. Like if I didn't know who Hammer was and saw him on the streets, I would think he's pretty American looking.

And what is a Russian supposed to look like, there are different types anyway (Gorbatchev and Putine for example), so is not an issue. Hopefully the movie will be good and a success, who knows, maybe Hammer will be the next Hal Jordan.

Trailer will probably come out this week or at the end of month. I'm thinking it's with Kingsman or Focus.

White people are white people.

I mean, I too would've preferred Skarsgaard, but that's less because he "looks more Russian," and more because I just don't like Hammer.

Well the reason I would've preferred him is nothing to do with looking more or less Russian or to do with Hammer, but just that Skarsgard looks more like David McCallum. You have to admit there is a pretty striking similarity between the two.

Oh yes indeed, definite resemblance there. Not that I think that's important when doing a "reboot" of anything, but it's a bonus.

I don't see much need for either actor to look like the original ones.

Also David McCallum isn't actually Russian either. So Hammer not being Russian doesn't really bother me.

On a side note, Robert Vaughn is the only one of the Magnificent Seven who is still alive:awesome:

Cool. I'm looking forward to it. I really hope they have some form of the classic theme tune though, and not that it will be another case of not being able to secure the rights, or only being allowed to use a tiny segment of it like in the A-Team movie.

Awesome, interested to see what this will be like.

I like Hammer the guy, I think he's pretty funny in interviews.

From director Guy Ritchie starring the two men you love from The Cold Light of Day and The Lone Ranger comes...The Man From UNCLE.

I do in fact love The Long Ranger.
