It's quite astounding that even though the footage is such low-quality and far away it still managed to choke me up with it's beauty and emotional grandness.

That Pa Kent quote along with the music especially lingers in my head, lovely delivery from Costner.

All the descriptions from those who were actually there say it's snow, so that's what I'm going with since it's was much clearer for them.

i do love the choice for Kevin Costner :) great acting ability, and fits the part mentally and visually

Its sharp. There were some really nice moments, Superman walking on clouds, Superman in cuffs. It just had a very somber tone and the feeling of being alienated we literally just saw. There wasn't any fun to be had. However, it goes to show you the difference between what Marvel is doing. Superman Returns, Nolan's Films, and this film...they are trying to make movies first. Marvel is bring comics to the screen. Neither is the right or wrong way to go, it's just a glaring difference.
1)Again, he's not walking in the clouds...Its snow. Probably out of the Fortess of Solitude or a mountain, like the Abrams script.
2)Its a teaser. I`d prefer great movies with character development than something like Marvel is doing. DC isn't Marvel and I hope it stays that way.
3)It was incredible and made us want more. They aren't going to show all action shots when the movie is a year away.

I like Goyer, but it is pretty clear it is Nolan that makes these things work. Goyer's track record proves as much. He has nice ideas, but he doesn't know how to translate them very well.

Has there ever been a bigger facepalm than Blade Trinity? Just sad to watch considering he wrote the first two.

It is actually snow apparently, but it does look like clouds to me as well.
Superman comes walking out of his Fortress of Solitude in the full uniform, and while I'm sure there are hardcore fans who will argue about this detail or that detail, what it looked like to me was "Superman," the ideal realization of this iconic character.

From hitfix

or the most obvious question, where is Lex Luthor?!?!
Probably in the shadows like Orborn in TASM. Or maybe a hint/reference at the end à la Batman Begins?

The early descriptions said he was walking on clouds, and I couldn't tell that it was snow. Pump the brakes.

I was pointing out the differences, if you read my post at all, I didn't say one was better or worse.

I am not sure how you can even tell it was incredible from grainy footage from a bootleg, but ok.

i think Goyer is a good writer, directors and producers just butcher it when they get their hands on it. He himself isnt a good director tho.

Him on fire and in handcuffs walking down the corridor with soldiers guarding him were the most striking. Cavill appears fine (and he will be in the finished film) though I laughed at how much he sounded like Bale talking about "having so many questions."

BTW, totally agree on Kevin Costner. Perfect casting.

Also, the clothes that Clark is wearing when he enters the Planet and puts on his glasses are the same from the spy photos of the bike scene.

Both of Clark's fathers sound perfect. I was a little hesitate on Crowe, but that is completely gone now.

I thought that was Russell Crowe saying the line about questions?

"You must have so many questions.." Maybe I just heard it wrong

If there is ever a scene in this film where Superman comes out and is greeted with a standing ovation like he was in S:TM and in SR, I feel like this time, he'll truly have earned it and that it'll feel much more rewarding for the audiences as well.

Are some of you guys giving Nolan credit for the visuals that we saw in the teaser?

I mean, Ill give credit for some of the ideas and writing I guess, but on a visual standpoint I believe thats all Snyder. Like the shots being chosen and how the action plays out thats got to be all Snyder and his cinematographer right? I dont see how Nolan can have any input in that stuff.

In that regard, Snyder seems to have hit it a homerun in what little I saw.

Didn't he get blamed for forcing Venom into SM3? If the story sucks, then both Nolans and Goyer deserve a majority of the blame. Can't blame Zack for something he didn't write.

He got blamed for forcing Venom into SM3 because at the time the fans were as precious with Raimi as they are with Nolan now, and they needed someone else to blame for the bad movie.

Of course, Arad also admitted to doing so. But Raimi still made a bad movie.
Nobody would have praised Arad for forcing Venom in if the movie was good.

I just think its funny that when we get a trailer that focuses on character instead of fun, especially moments that feel like a Superman movie, people complain. It's a teaser and was amazing.

The footage I saw on facebook was pretty clear, way better than the youtube version. My vision is good I could tell what was going on in most of the shots. Just because its low quality, doesnt mean I cant get the mood of what they'ere going for.

ps:

Some cool tidbits:

-Theres a shot of Krypton exploding and Jor-El and Lara holding each other. I think she is holding baby Kal-el too.
-After the bus scene, there's a shot of Cavill in Alaska looking at a school bus. This is probably what makes him remember his childhood moment.
-Clark hugs Martha in the front porch of the Kent farm in the end. Maybe after Zod is defeated in Smallville or after Pa Kent dies?

People were saying that this looks like a Christopher Nolan movie, yes. Which is ridiculous.

I am so blown away by everything so far. I've known that I wanted to see the teaser moreso than the actual TDKR movie... and now I'm looking forward to seeing the teaser even moreso. TDKR will be a bonus.

I've always thought Raimi's ideas for Sandman and Harry were worse than anything that happened with Venom. Definitely a cop-out excuse by fans to blame Arad when the film as a whole was such a mess.
