Man Of Steel Tie-In Comic *GIRL OF STEEL CONFIRMED*

Another question? Do anybody think this comic will be on a Walmart bonus disc if they have one for the Man Of Steel movie?

Is the ship in the movie, the same ship that is in the tie in comic? Do this mean that Kara(Supergirl) is on earth somewhere? Do this comic really go with the movie?

Yes it is the same ship, David S. Goyer has confirmed it and even said that they purposely focused on the open pod, In fact, Snyder almost cut that half a second scene from the movie but Goyer begged him to keep it in.

They are hinting that yes Kara will show up......when and how is a complete unknown right now, but the possibility is there.

I have a feeling its going to be included as a digital comic in the combo pack that pretty well every big movie has, I'm personally hoping that since this was a Prequel comic, now that the movie is out we can maybe get an epilogue comic that will act as a prologue for the sequel :D

Thanks. If Kara Zoe-El as Supergirl does happen in one of these new Superman movies I am sure that Zack Snyder is the one who could do justice to this character and still keep it a Superman movie.

Np, I do hope we get Supergirl connected to Man Of Steel, and Snyder/Goyer seem like the ones to finally give us that :)

Most if not all of the Kryptonian tech was destroyed in MOS. Zod is dead and his followers are trapped in the Phantom Zone. Since Krypton was connected to everything in the movie. Kara could be Clark's link to his home planet, providing him with answers and insight. Also, do you think she'll have the miniskirt costume from the comics, the new 52 outfit, or something else entirely?

Well we don't know how badly damaged the scout ship is, obviously Superman did enough damage to it to destroy the genesis chamber but it going down was more of Zod pushing down while Superman was using his heat vision, but it was probably more or less intact plus there is the ship Zod used to get to the scout ship....thats still there and there would probably be a Jor-El back up linked in it as well :p

....all theory but just saying lol

In terms of her costume, someone on this site has mentioned that she would have a similar suit to most of the kryptonians, and that has been proven correct in the comic, however I do think that Snyder would probably introduce her with that costume and then have it change up to something more recognizable with the character, be that the mini skirt or the new 52 look or maybe a mixture of both, I dont know, but I'm sure it will be something where people will look at it and go "yep that's Supergirl" :)

You are probably right, it will be interesting to see what happens. Also, if Kara is in the sequel, I will be interested to see what they do to explain her survival (she's 18,000 years old).

Kara will have no red and blue costume because............Superman TOOK IT!!!

:oldrazz:

Probably reveal that she's been frozen in the ice, the way DC did with the Byrne-era Supergirl (Matrix).

That's a good theory. That would also allow them to do their own take on the whole "Kara's on Earth, but doesn't really want to be here" idea from the comics. She's been frozen for thousands of years, but to her it would seem like mere days, which would be quite jarring for her. Also, I going to suggest Summer Glau for Supergirl. She's a good actress and has proven that she can play a convincing badass (Serenity and Terminator SCC).

Frozen or back in one of the other pods inside the scout ship and after it crashed in Metropolis the pod is expelled from the ship only to be found by LEX LUTHOR!! BUM BUM BUM :funny:

They are leaving open the possibility that she COULD show up,
It is not the same thing as hinting that she will.
Right now , it is a possibility , nothing more .

Lex manipulating Kara could make for an interesting subplot. He could act like a father figure and convince her that Superman is a dangerous menace. Superman turning Zod into Maxwell Lord could be the event he needs to push Kara into attacking Superman. A Superman/Supergirl fight could be really cool and filled with emotion. They reconcile and she helps him fight Brainiac in the third film.

something is really bugging me about the whole Brainiac situation, if they had made some kind of small mention of him in Man Of Steel, like if they said after Brainiac attacked Krypton and stole the city of Kandor, that was the reason why their resources where depleted and they were forced to harvest the planets core (leading to its ultimate destruction) then it would make sense for him to be the villain in the third film.

But due to the lack of him being mentioned at all leads me to think he will be the main the villain for the Justice League movie (if we get there).

FeedOnATreeFrog posted this fan art in the DC Comics Films section:

That art is amazing. That costume design is also great, That would definitely work for the movie.
