I think the fight should start in Metropolis, and end in space.

You know, the villain confronts Superman but (just like in Superman II) after Superman sees people in terrible danger, he moves the fight to another area. Like space. They could even go to New Krypton, although I'm not sure how that would work...But you know...I'd prefer to see Superman fighting on the streets of Metropolis, even if it's not the most logical thing.

And a rare "Agreed" comes down the pipe.

In an ideal world M.O.S. would happen for 2010' with Brainiac as the main villain, and end with a cliffhanger with a villain like Darkseid.

That could set up a J.L. film with Routh for 2011.

Thats what I would like to see.....Singer and the new writers should basically tie in the MOS story and leave a cliffhanger type of ending where it would hint at Darkseid for the JL film. MOS should also introduce us to at least one potential JL character and IMO it should be Det John Jones aka Jonn Jonn'z/Martian Manhunter. JL film could happen in 2011 or 2012. I think Nolans 3rd part of his Batman trilogy will come out in 2011.

As for as wanting to see massive city wide destruction, I can see exactly where dark b is coming from. He's desperate to see what a Superman film can truly bring to the table, as am I.

I think it would be even better to have them fight at superspeed across a large area. When you have two beings as powerful as them fighting, the battlefield wouldn't be limited to a small area such as Metropolis.

I think the fighting should start in a city....but then Superman moving the fight to a desert mountainious area.

I agree to a certain extent. His fight sequences with Metallo,Eradicator,Doomsday, Braniac potentially need to take place in different landscapes and I think the visuals for this particular film should be more mesmerizing and epic in scale compared to SR. Can you imagine if Singer (or any director) used a visual style and color tones for a Superman film that were used in 300? How amazing would that be?

I don't know about copying but using some color tones that would give MOS a different look, tone and more of a grand epic sense and feel that we haven't seen before in any Superman film before.

thats why IMO SR didnt make more money. because they were thinking to much. i am not saying that the movie shuold be 100% dumb. but lets have some more fun.
so what if they fight in the city. OP killed some people when sliding down the building. so what....SO WHAT.
this is not hamlet. this is supposed to be a big budget summer blockbuster about a villain that is strong and can fly.
they can focus on supermans character when he has a dialoge with lois lane and lex luthor. when he is fighting a supervillain they should just fight....and destroy.

Good post dark, that's how it would be if it was really happening. Superman can't stop and yell "Hey! I'm not suppose to fight and hurt anyone, I'm too good, my dad told me that on the fishing boat, stop hurting people and follow me to a designated spot where we can talk"

To the GP Superman is more about a guy from another planet who has amazing strength, speed and can fly and has to show those powers in order to save lives. I really don't think they hang on his morals like the die hards do. I'm sure they will think no different if Superman and a bad guy crash threw a building like they did in Transformers, it's just a movie.

I think we need to see how TDK turns out before we start thinking about a third. I don’t want a third film just to see a rehash of villains only this time done correctly. There needs to be a compelling story so we need to see what seeds TDK plants into a possible third film in the future. A do-over of villains isn’t a good enough excuse for doing another one. I think there is about a 90% chance a 3rd Nolan Bat film will be made. What I don't get is the thinking as to why it is so impossible to use MOS as a sprinboard for an eventual JL film? Why does it seem like the glass is always half empty when trying to use Routh as Superman in a potential JLA film? You say money might be issue....maybe with Bale...but surely not with Routh. Why is it so hard for WB's or some of us fans to believe the WB's can tie in MOS to the JL film and keep it within the same continuity? The only problem I see is not because of Nolan and Bales Batman....but perhaps the other solo projects like Flash and GL and WW that are trying to get kick started. The plan for WB's IF they want a JL film in say 2012 should be for them to get the MOS, Flash and GL films out within 3 years and use those versions of Flash and GL in the JL film IF they try and make one. If a solo WW movie doesn't work out then just introduce her in a possible JL film in 2012. They should try and get a JL film out with or without using Bales Batman.
