GO BRANDON GO!

Sup-Zod2.jpg

That's funny! :woot:

I would to have Routh back to me he is the best Superman.

Agreed.

I think that another actor deserves a shot.

We've had far to many lame actors protray the Man of Steel, it's time to hire somebody with a better than average acting talent.

IMHO.

And I think that Brandon deserves it more. He earned it. :cwink:

I also think he is a good actor. He definitely has the acting chops (plus the voice, the look, the presence, the right personality to carry the super torch) to portray The Man of Steel, IMO.

I think WB at this stage, would take no chances with deadline of 2011 approaching fast and the the risk of making even one mistake taking down the franchise and handing it over to whoever siegels want to, not to speak the great cost of their reputation getting tarnished (that is what will happen if WB becomes Unsuccessful to reveive the Superman second time in a period of less than nine years, look what has happened to HULK, it is almost dead franchaise now.) is a HUGE Risk.

Well, you know... according to Gale, The Incredible Hulk is considering a successful. There would be a sequel of this and also, Edward might be in The Avengers as the Hulk.

Would they choose a complete Unknown ? or a Widely popular Star ? or Routh again ? what can be a miminal risk ? I think chooseing Routh is a safe option, and personally speaking, I think Routh should be in a Reboot/ Restart whatever.

That's the way half the idiots on the Supe boards are... it's never gonna get any different.

Lol. I'm getting a good laugh out of some of these comments.

Then you have no sense of humor.

...says the person who claims that if you're not a Routh fan, you're not a Superman fan. :whatever:
It was kind of funny, but I did a similar joke with TW a long time ago. I manipped his head on a wooden chair. Had I not already done the joke with someone else it would have been funnier.

Just imagine if it were that pic of TW's acting. I'm sure he would have been laughing like crazy. Ya know, the one that shows one facial expression of Tom repeated under different captions.

Can't get mad just because it is the guy you support :o

IMO it's bit of an overreaction to say that someone has no sense of humor if they didn't get that joke just because you happen to find it funny. We all have different tastes.:o

Here's some random info on what the makeup artists contribution to BR's Superman look was.

Brandon Routh as Superman in Superman Returns
Make-up by Nikki Gooley

We don’t usually do Beauty Breakdowns on men, but isn’t this a beautiful face? Brandon Routh, the new Superman, has a lot of lore to live up to. Gooley created three looks for him, and his “hero” face is shown here.
“I wanted Brandon as ‘hero Superman’ to have a slightly comic book, sculptured face in keeping with the classic Superman, and also looking completely handsome,” Gooley says.

Story and director and Action elements all are very crucial to making a successful supes movie, and equally important aspect is the actor who wears the supes costume, in case of character like Superman, which has been a part of comics for last 50 (?) years and numerous small screen and big screen incarnations, a wrong guy can seriously damage the franchise (maybe even kill it.)

I will just ask you this question, what would have happened if Donner and Manekwiez (sp?) had cast Burt Reynolds (and someone else who did auditions and screen tests.) instead of Chris Reeve in STM ? Would that movie been just as successful because of great special effects (for that period.), good story, good direction etc.

I think not.

I think you know exactly what would have happened.

Burt Reynolds as Superman would have been the final comedic nail in the coffin of the character. As it was, Christopher Reeve (and to a smaller extent Margot Kidder) were the only elements in that film that weren't overtly campy or comedic.

It would have succeeded but as an out and out comedy. It also would have seriously tarnished the character. Think the 1960's Batman televison series.

In the same vein, what would it have been like had Nick Nolte been cast?

ya its weird to hear about folks like them had the chance to play this character other folks for example for han solo/indiana jones, etc... to see what the film could have been with others in place.

Or Robert Redford, or Clint Eastwood, or Steve McQueen, or (God forbid) Bruce Jenner? Or even Cavill, Welling, Bomer, Kutcher, Hartnett, or Law?

We'll never know for sure, but it's fun to visualize. :D

Not supes related, but Tom Selleck was offered the lead (or was in the running) for Raiders of the lost Ark. I seriously doubt Indy would have been the icon he is now without ford playing him.
Of course we can't know that for sure, but still........

Ya i knew selleck was up for the role but couldnt do it due to his commitment with magum pi(spelling?)

Clint Eastwood as Batman, with Reeve as Superman? Now that's an ultimate World's Finest visualization.

I always thought that a young Eastwood would have made a hell of a Wolverine.
