Mark Millar's Nemesis Project

Maybe Mark Millar should finish some of his other projects before starting more! How about that?!

Such as? Ultimate Comics: Avengers 1 is delayed because of the artist, while Ultimate Avengers 2 is already almost done by Leinil Yu. No idea whos drawing Ultimate Avengers 3 or 4.

YOu guys need to realize he gets his scripts done fast, but he demands so much from the artists to put on their +A game, sometiems delays and **** can happen.

Hasn't Millar had some kind of recurring illness? I remember hearing something about that being one of the reasons one of his earlier series was super-late.

I remember something like this happened like 1-2 years ago, but i could be very wrong. I do remember hearing about this illness once.

Kick-Ass was not JRJR's fault, he phoned in his last issue of FF run, Ultimate Avengers I'll buy, but there was absolutely no reason for OML too take as long as it did. I guarantee the art was finished long before it's release.

Kick-Ass got delayed because both Millar AND JrJr we're working on the MOVIE. You know JRJR doing character designs and so forth.

OML conclusion... Eh i really don't know how much was it on Mcniven's details and how much Marvel wanted the conclusion to get it's own issue and whatnot.

come on man 2 years for 8 issues even working on the movie didn't stop it for that long. I'm sure it's been done they just held back on releasing to build it up more and more hype. At least the movie looks fun unlike the comic.

Again. Both Millar and John Romita jr worked on the movie. You're telling me the man has time for both comic and designs now?

EDIT:
Millar:
There's nothing more dispiriting than when an artist takes three months to draw a script. It's heartbreaking, and you know that sales are going to be affected by it. But Johnny can turn an issue around in a weekend and it still looks incredible. The only reason he was late on Kick-Ass was because he was directing the animated sequence within the movie, so that's a big chunk of time on top of his regular Marvel gigs.

That's BS it was all to add hype to make sure the reprints would sell out. How many issues of ASM and covers did JRJR do during kick-ass. It was done for a while

I guess Jim Lee is just ********ting with All-Star Batman and Robin too then? It seems to me you just can't accept any answer given to you, so this whole conversation is meaningless due to your stubborness. :p

Actually Jim Lee is probably waiting on Frank Miller, be serious no matter how much time he was working on the movie there were still giant gaps between a lot of issues. There's no coincidence that the comic wraps 2 months before the movie comes out.

Eh Miller is done pretty much. Jim Lee's the one working on DCU Online, got married last year, had an eye surgery and an arm surgery too i believe. Owns Wildstorm.

Really why can't you just accept John Romita Jr was busy with the movie and other comics so they delayed the Kick-Ass stuff? Was it such a horrible thing?

Like I said it's a "Millar thing" nothing he's put out in the last 2 years has ever wrapped up on time. It's a Millar hype thing. Can you name any other creator owned book that's gone into a 4th printing the only other comic I can even think of in the past year is the Obama Spider-Man issue. Nothing Millar wrote last year came out on time and had drastic delays, you can blame artists all you want, but it's a way to hype which I'm sure Millar is aware of cause he's great at hyping things:)

I thought Wanted 2 was already shooting. . . .

I think they're on pre-production right now. But there won't be a Wanted 2 comic or anything.

If thats how you feel about his creator owned stuff, very well then. :) Its your opinion and lets leave it at that.

Why would there be? Wanted the movie is almost nothing like Wanted the comic in the first place.

I'm just making sure people know that! :p

Mark Millar interview on Nemesis.

If i understood from his accent right. Nemesis informs the Cop that he'll kill them in 28 days or so. He kills 1 cop each year and he has trained all kinds of martial arts from around the globe. :p

Comic comes out this week. :) Also the ad says "good guys don't always wear white" which sounds abit weird. Shouldn't it be "white doesn't always mean good" or something along those lines rather? Oh well. :p

Got the number one of this and it was pretty good for a series opener. :D One thing was disappointing, in the back there was a message from Mark Millar and in it he mentions how he was just doing the finishing touches on the series conclusion. :( I was kinda hoping this would be a long term ongoing...

He probably wants it done in one arc so he can easily translate it into a blockbuster movie set for the summer of 2014.

Like the issue btw, should be a good series.

Actually, from the tone of his message, I got the impression because he and McNiven are doing everything possible to own the character completely themselves, they will wind up putting out more Nemesis stories in the future.

I think both Nemesis and Kick-Ass are trilogies. Each receiving 3 books.

Well i thought this was a good start. Really interesting start and really gory with violence. Mcniven's style was the same good stuff yet it was surprisingly new with the no-inking included. Dialogue was well withouth trying too must forced "bad guy" talk which imo was in Wanted, here the guy swears and is an a-hole, but he's not trying to try it too hard like Wesley. He's all cool and stuff, telling his victims to relax when he's.... cruising. :P Interesting to hear about his past which he refers to at the end, and yeah Morrow seems like one heck of a cop! :) Good start thats for sure!

I was intrigued by the premise and love McNiven, but I didn't realize in advance that it would have MAX-like content. Not for me.

Maybe it's just me, but whenever Millar is given freedom to use whatever dialogue he wants (IE Max or Parental Advisory rating) he goes overboard with the cursing and language so much that it becomes like a parody. In his work for Marvel and DC where he can't use those words as readily, his dialogue is enjoyable, witty, and clever. So, in this first issue, as well as with Wanted, I felt that it was forced and, to put it plainly, inappropriate.

That, coupled with [BLACKOUT]standing on a flying airplane with no equipment or gadgets to keep him held on[/BLACKOUT] and Nemesis' sudden chatty attitude more toward the end took away the excitement I had for the book when it was first announced a few months ago. Hopefully the rest of the book will be better and more like his Ultimates work (or even like the later issues of Wanted) so it won't be so hard to get into.
