I don't know. If we're going back to House of M, we're now lopping off ten years of continuity.

I've played in games with a choose-your-continuity style, and it just feels messy to me. I know we're not all experts on everything Marvel's done in the past decade, and I know they've made decisions with characters that we don't always agree with, but the nature of long-form storytelling like comics is that you just have to move forward with your baggage. If you don't like how something was done, come up with a clever way to undo it. (Note to Quesada: Making a deal with Mephisto does not qualify as "clever.")

Just my two cents on the whole issue.

Possible Synopsis?

The Dark Reign is over.

Norman Osborn's quest for absolute power has ended at the Siege of Asgard. His grand scheme to finally fracture the heroes of Earth once and for all instead brought
Earth's Mightiest together again after years of in fighting and fractured relationships. Though Asgard was lost, the Earth was saved.

H.A.M.M.E.R. has been disbanded.

The Dark Avengers have been incarcerated.

The Superhero Registration Act has been repealed.

Evil forces are sure to rise again, but the heroes of Earth are now free to stand against it, unrestrained by the bonds of an oppressive government. This is a new start,
a fresh beginning.

This is the Heroic Age.​

I might pick up two Avengers also.

I'm a lot fonder of some of the more unconventional Avengers lineups, like the West Coast Avengers and the Hank Pym as Wasp-led Mighty Avengers, than I am traditional ones so I was thinking of opting for maybe Havok and... War Machine or Ms. Marvel. We'll see once the thread is up!

Here's the premise from my MMORPG proposal.

the Civil War between those in support of and those against the Superhero Registration Act, have laid down their arms and a truce has been negotiated between Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Steve Rogers (Captain America). There would be an all-volunteer force created that spanned all groups of superheroes. This force, known as “The Initiative” would work in conjunction with all the governments of the world and be headed by Iron Man, Captain America, Professor Xavier, Dr. Strange, Black Bolt, Black Panther, Reed Richards, Namor, and Maria Hill as a SHIELD representative and liaison between the superhuman community and world governments.
The Initiatives first act was to establish training facilities, based on establish a hero’s origin type, to help guide them in the use of their abilities, coordination in forming groups, and all the threats that they may encounter. These facilities are as follows:

The Xavier Institute for Mutant Studies – Mutant

The Sanctum of Mystical Mastery – Magic

The Enclave - Technology

Camp Hammond Field Training Institute – Natural

The Four Freedoms Foundation – Science

Heroes who join one of the five institutes are granted access to a network of resources from all facilities as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. While performing hero work outside the Initiative is not prohibited, doing so outside the law may get you branded a vigilante.

Upon hearing of the formation of the Initiative and fearing a unified hero front, villain organizations and key players gathered to form their own version, The Cabal. Like the Initiative, the Cabal would seek out new super powered beings twist their perceptions and turn them to a life of crime whose profits would funnel up to the founding members, Dr. Doom, The Mandarin, Mr. Sinister, Baron Zemo, the High Evolutionary, Magneto and Taskmaster acting as the head of training and representative of the Cabal to all the other gangs and organizations set to profit from their involvement. The Cabal too established special facilities across the globe to funnel resources to create an endless stream of super villains of all types, but like the Initiative, separated into four facilities:
