Marvel December 2009 Solicitations

Dont be a hater. Book has been solid since it debuted. Definetly better than the 3 core titles which have all been pretty mediocore, boring or downright terrible over the past year

LOL...more like Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I dropped it bc it was simply too boring too read. Not even Monet could keep me and I love M

Heh. X-Force is stabby stabby mackill force and is the epitome of EVERYTHING wrong with the X-Franchise at the moment.

Not to mention it's written by Twittle Dee and Twittle Dumber.

Nate Grey is back? When, how, and -- most importantly -- why??

Nate Grey is back? When, how, and -- most importantly -- why??

Because they can. Don'tcha know that's the best reason any comic book company has in the world to bring back some random character. :p

X-Man may be back, but he forgot a shirt and shoes. He wouldn't get served at 7/11.

No one asked for Toro, but he's got THE TORCH now. Seven issues worth!

Honestly, I like Nate and it's not the worst thing in the world that he's inexplicably back for some reason I'm sure makes sense in context. But seriously, who the heck is the editor around the X-offices these days? It just feels like throwing **** at the walls to see what might happen.

Paul Cornell as writer, though?...I'm in his park. I'll pick it up to see how he handles.

X-Force is a great book. I love the blood and gore, it doesn't take much for my simple mind to enjoy things.

Everyone dead in the X world is coming back except Jean Grey. The X line has had WAY too many ressurections over the past 2 years and its about to get even bigger soon

Because Marvel heard me secretly wishing they would bring the awesome Nate Grey back.

I loved loved LOVED X-Man back in the day. :D

If they bring him back, and not Threnody, I'll be a sad panda. :(

You know, I keep hearing people say things like how they're bringing X-Man back, because no one asked for it! and other stuff about how no one cared if X-Man came back... but I totally don't get this.

I've wanted Nate back for years and I've heard countless others bring it up as well. It's not chanted in every language through the streets of New York or anything, but Nate had a good fanbase. People liked him a lot and I think his return is probably due to his popularity even though it's been so long since he was scattered to the wind.

This 100X over. I was also a huge fan of Nate and it's been too long since he dispersed himself.

I can't wait to read this.

As a person who followed Gen X religiously when it was being published, it saddens me to see just how that group of kids were treated once the comic was cancelled.

Jubilee - Depowered (although handled pretty well in New Warriors, showing that she is still a hero, powers or no.)
Synch - Dead
Husk - Limbo with periodic backround shots
Penance - Gone and forgotten
M - X-Factor and the only one of the kids still around in any real way
Mondo - Dead
Chamber - Apocalypse Jr
Skin - Dead
Banshee - Dead
White Queen - Still around in all the major books

Am I forgetting anyone?

So for the most part Emma and Monet are the only characters still around in a real way. I miss that team. :(

It's nice to see them bringing Emplate back, but Monet and the Gen Xers should be involved with his return. Just like Xavier should have been involved with the return of his son.

Yeah, Generation X was the first new X-Title after I started reading books, heck, it was my first new series period, so I was hooked. I loved all the characters and have a soft spot for them to this day. I hate what's become of them though.

Jubilee - Depowered (although handled pretty well in New Warriors, showing that she is still a hero, powers or no.)

She was awsome in New Warriors, the star of the books in my opinion. I'm glad the writer left her with her equipment at the end of the series and i hope to see her show up again sometime soon. I think I like her better as Wondra than I did as Jubilee.

Penance - Gone and forgotten

She came back during the Loners series (with Darkhawk, Turbo, etc.) but nothing's come of it since then. And that was obviously the Penance shell with someone else inside (obviously not the St. Croix sisters as they were freed) but we never learned who that was.

M - X-Factor and the only one of the kids still around in any real way.

And ironically enough, she was the one character I thought wouldn't do much. I felt her powers were too all over the place and her backstory (M, Monet, M-Plate, Twins, etc) was too convoluted. I figured she'd die away after the series ended.

Mondo - Dead

The Mondo plant clone died. The real Mondo has vanished with the end of the series never to be mentioned again. Techincally, he's still alive and on the depowered list, though it's never been mentioned in the comics themselves.

Chamber - Apocalypse Jr

This is a little odd, but he had a good showing in the New Warriors series as well. I miss the classic missing faced Chamber, but at least he's still a semi-presence here and there.

Am I forgetting anyone?

Both Gaia and Artie are on the depowered list. Leech has been around hit and miss. He was a minor role in Weapon X, then in the 198 stuff, and he was in an arc of Uncanny back prior to Messiah Complex. So he's still around, just in minor cameos.

It's nice to see them bringing Emplate back, but Monet and the Gen Xers should be involved with his return. Just like Xavier should have been involved with the return of his son.

With so much of the 90's returning to Marvel of late I'm hoping for a semi-Generation reunion. The fact that Emplate's returned shows that the series isn't COMPLETELY forgotten at Marvel. Like I said though... if I can get Synch back, I'll be happy. Of course, then I'll be asking for Skin, but let's not kid ourselves here. Dude's not coming back.

Marvel has already confirmed during Con-Season that they are bringing back Jean Grey.
