Marvel Legends, Selects, Universe- Thread - Part 2

I gotta look at those again. I just took the collar off of fury. What did you do to the tie? Just cut it off of chameleon?

i basically just pulled it off.. i might of ran it under hot water first.. not sure. But it's just attached with a little peg at the knot.. and a little glue.

Pull it off, then you have to glue and pull the fury turtle-neck down to sit how you like it.. its a little bit of a struggle but not hard to do, to make sure you cover the dress shirt collar.

after that, it's just a simple repaint... Testor's Model Acrylic flat (non glossy) Black for the Shirt and Pants, White for the jacket.

you will have to wash the figure with soap and water before applying paint, to get the plastic oils off, which can cause paint not to stick well.





same process for Jameson, Testor's Model Acrylic flat Brown/Tan (whatever color pant suit you want Jameson in) green for his tie, white for his dress shirt..



and don't cut corners... take the head off to paint, as well as the jacket.. otherwise it's very easy to make a mistake. Hardest part for me was painting around the neck and hands

Yeah i chose his 90s white suit look. It stands out and looks comic-booky in a spidey display plus the black especially is so easy to paint and looks like it was right out of the factory

What is worth getting? Like.....is rhino worth getting the whole wave? Bearing in mind the following

Chameleon - I already got 2. Probably gonna get 3
New character (s) need the figs
Misty knight - already got new character
White tiger - already got new character
Scarlet spider - I dunno....I have the old old one moc......love the look and it's a great looking fig....don't really feel need for the character.
Kraven - have the old Kraven. He's good. This one has a great body but terrible face. I'm fine with the old one.
Ghost rider - I have the ml3 and ml7 ones already. And hml1 one. This one looks great but nothing special.....he's a low level character for me.
Superior venom- no desire at all. Limited use character in the comics. Meh design. Would only get him to finish rhino.

Rhino. Looks great. But I already have a couple. The fearsome foes box set it good enough. I've answered my question already I'm not gonna spend 100 bucks on 4 more figs I don't need or want to get a rhino I don't really need.

Here's basically my thoughts on everyone from the current 2 waves...

Rhino Wave:
-Scarlet Spider (hands down a must get.. beautiful figure all around) great plastic, great sculpt and paint, beautiful figure

-Ghost Rider (another stellar figure, probably the best GR yet)

Chameleon (nuff said)

Superior Venom I could not care any less about the character... but visually stunning fig

Misty Knight I love misty, and this will likely be the only 6in fig we ever see of her, but she doesn't stand well, has gummy legs, and its hard to find a figure who's eyes don't look "bug eyed"

Kraven Kraven had so much potential.. great sculpt, but really suffers from gummy plastic and bad paint applications. The nose on the lion vest is lower than it's sculpted position on every figure, and he has no definition via paint.. so the vest is very flat, and his head is terrible... he looks lifeless and emotionless like someone yanked his soul out of him. I've seen people take the new kraven vest and put it on the old TB kraven body (looks nice) and i've seen people head swap old kraven with new kraven's body.

Daredevil probably the best DD to date (as is the yellow walgreens exclusive version)

White Tiger pretty good figure

Rhino i was pretty happy with the old toybiz one from the box set, but this one turned out to be pretty great, love his screaming head




As for the new Absorbing Man wave.. i can't speak highly enough about it... every figure is a knock out... 5 Stars all around. I love it.. even put Silvermane's head on the IM3 Ultron Body

amazon, i don't know.. but they're up on hasbrotoyshop.com and dorksidetoys and entertainment earth.

amazon is hard to find the cap wave on.. they list everyone but Sharon so far (shes up elsewhere though) and they arn't listed as legends..

you basically have to search for "captain america (character name) figure"

I can't for the life of me find the Cap preorders, but I was able to snag Jack O Lantern and Speed Demon. Amazon currently has the Spidey wave, excluding Gwen and Venom who already sold out.

Found some of them. Taskmaster is now gone, though, must have sold out.

Bear with me here folks I'm just gonna work out the new Spidey wave here deciding if I should go for the BAF. I know Spidey says yes. But I found this helpful.

Speed demon: yes. New character. And I like him
Beetle: yes. New character and I like the superior foes book.

Spider gwen: I don't know......I like the look. Mediocre about the character.

Morbius: meh for character and my old ones face never melted

Jacko lantern: I dunno. ...I do like him...but I have an old one.....this guy looks a lot better and I technically a new character. Good with agent venom

Venom: I do love a tounge less venom. I really do.

Spidey: everything about this figure is Meh for me. I like that they did spider Carnage. ....but why really?


Absorbing man.......I have one. But it's lackluster. I'll get 2 figs for sure.....is a new absorbing man worth 125 bucks for 5 more figs I don't necessarily want? I don't know. Wait and see I suppose.

Roughie Roughie Roughie.. im really disappointed in you about Morbius... the old Classics one is utter garbage.. from his look down to his rubbery face (melty or not) terrible figure. and terrible articulation.. the new one is gorgeous... and his classic look

Ben... well he's effing Ben Rielley.. and looks great.. and many of use wanted spider-carnage. Speaking of which, i need to get some red paint to paint some of the symbiote goo on mine...

Spider-Gwen, if not for anything else.. this is a gorgeous figure... I have never read anything with her in it.. but my god.. do i love the figure.

the New Absorbing man is fantastic.. he also looks great with the wrecking crew.. and the options for his 2 heads and 4 arms are pretty awesome.

this is easily a 5 star wave.. hasbro really knocked it out of the park

I also bought the bullet.. and got a Marvel Unlimited year subscription so i could finally get Rescue.... I weighed my options.. you're lucky to get her for under $75 on ebay (she usually goes for about $100... and that's without the rest of the perks that you get with the year subscription) So i just bought the bullet... thought i might as well start reading where i left off (jumped ship right before "One Moment in Time" finished it last night.. my god that story was horrible... I cringed the whole way through it.. and made me relive why i stopped reading comics....

Oh well.. maybe the next issues will drawl me back ... Crazy that i haven't read a comic in years

but ugh.. im just so mad at the direction marvel has went in since i quit.. it's all gimmicky and full of constant diss-order and "status-quo" changing events.. that they've begun to carry no weight, because just when you spend a year getting use to one new team.. it's all changed again

We know Nuke is in this wave, so now that's 4 slots filled. The remaining three will presumably be comic based. Hopefully we can get another Serpant Society member and FalconCap. Also, no Civil War line could be complete without Nitro.

Out of the figures revealed today, I'll only be getting Black Panther.

Can anyone tell me why Marvel Legends sporadically makes the 6" movie villains? Looking all the way back to IM2 no Whiplash, GOTG no Nebula or Ronan, Thor Dark no Elfs. Do they save them for later on down the line? I am hoping for a Crossbones 6", but going on history not sure what to think...

Vision, wanda, and falcons are likely in the next wave or a 3 pack
