Then I get itI don't think you really get the reference at all.
Ferris Bueller doesn't have a "Lola" car. Ferris's friend Cameron (played by Alan Ruck) has a father who owns a prized classic red 1961 Ferrari which Ferris convinces Cameron to take on a joy ride around town and racks up a ton of mileage. At the end of the movie, Ferris and Cameron try to tinker with the odometer while the car is jacked up. Cameron eventually leans upon the car and knocks it off the jack and it plummets through a glass garage wall into a ravine below.
Coulson's prized possession is called "Lola" which is a classic red 1962 Corvette sports car, which Coulson doesn't want to get damaged or scratched in any way - hence why he often says "Don't touch Lola!" which has almost become his catchphrase.
The homage is Peter somehow damaging Coulson's car instead of the red Ferrari in Ferris Bueller as a nod to John Hughes.
The homage doesn't work at all with Fury.
But who's to say that Fury doesn't have a vintage car which he holds dear?
