I honestly don't think the writers are going to be an issue... I get the concern, but because a movie tanks or is successful isn't based on 1 party... you can have a great film with a terrible screen play... and you can have a terrible film with a fantastic screen play... the director, the editors, the actors.. etc... all make or break a film too... for all we know the Vacation script could have actually been great if it were shot and cast differently...

plus... it's got a 54% by the gen public.. which while still rotten, could be alot worse...

the critics arn't always right... for instance... the general public hated Spider-Man 3 with 51%, but the critics enjoyed it more and gave it a 63%... and in comparison... here's all the spidey films ratings...

and yeah... you're reading that right... the general public basically views Spider-Man 1 and Amazing 2 as equals....

So i can't really give the Vacation writers a hard time until we see the product... it's just not knowing which is scary.

Disagreed. Someone else try to say this before. Can't make good comparison like that with Spider-Man movies now because first Raimi Spider-Man movie out a lot longer by many years over ASM movies, and have much more of votes numbers.

That 10 years ago. Back then Spider-Man have 86% audience rating. That only 3 years after it come out. ASM 2 only been out a year and have much lower rating than that. It also not have close to number of votes Raimi Spider-Man 1 has. In ten years it be lower than what it is now.

the thing is... you can really only judge by the "now" some films suck when they come out... get low ratings and then become cult classics.... i mean look at the poor critic reviews on Hook... or Hocus Pocus... and people absolutely LOVE those films...

and in other cases... a film that was great at the time... just simply doesn't age very well. I loved spidey 1 and 2... but I have a hard time watching them now... especially Tobey and his terrible facial expressions and constant wimpy/mopey voice

Personally with what we heard from sony in the past, and marvel wanting peter. I bet we probably wont see miles for a long time. More so he shouldnt be around the same age as peter. As he was a good 2-3 yrs younger then ultimate peter. And for me personally i dont want to see him for at least 2 phases and we have mcu peter for a long haul and he gets to adulthood. Then maybe bring in miles there. But i thought i post this news.

id be pretty irate if they brought miles in so soon... especially when he IS the teenage spider-man.... and they could have filled that void with him and kept peter in college... which was the most interesting runs of his stories...

totally but like i said we know from sony side pre deal they had no interest in miles. And with marvel they have flat out said we are doing peter and focusing on peter. I doubt we will see miles any time soon. Personally like i said i doubt we will see him to at least phase 5 a minium. So we get to adulthood peter before miles and can do the full on mentor/mentee deal. Or have peter retire and pass mantle over to miles deal.

If they want racial supporting players. Their is plently of others i rather see first. Randy, sha sha, etc...... others. Or some not all racebending a few like sally, liz, for example.

Another thing to consider is that back in 2005 Rotten Tomatoes wasn't nearly as popular as it is now, and most likely had much less user ratings.

while yes... that's true, the amount of internet users was MUCH smaller then than it is now....

I'd quite like to see Miles show up in one of the solo films as a supporting character. I don't think that is a bad thing it doesn't mean he has to take over from Peter anytime soon particularly as he's younger. I don't want to see Miles at all. Unless they decide to do some alternate reality/spin off thing separate from the main movies, the Spider-Man movies should always be Peter Parker based.

I think user reviews, and the audience score were different things, or it miraculously dropped to a 65 later in the same year.

and for the low percentiles to effect the score... the high percentiles aren't very high... but mediocre... otherwise the low scores wouldn't effect the percentages that much...
