Secret Invasion Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion General Discussion Thread

Its not good but I wouldn't put it in my all time worst shows I've seen.

My wife and I just finished binge watching this. We liked it overall (didn't like some parts, other parts were great). It was a lot better than I expected from the comments.

The problem is that Secret Invasion in the comics was a Marvel Universe-wide event. It was all hands on deck.

The Skrulls had no motivation in this series. The sequence of events and chronology made no sense. It would've made more sense if it took place after The Marvels because then the Skrulls would have motivation to blame Captain Marvel and the humans for costing them their home. They had a peaceful and prosperous colony before Dar-Benn destroyed it. So if that's the case, why would all the Skrulls not go to the new homeworld and want to stay on Earth? None of it made any sense.

Also, what about the president banning all aliens?

I have said this a lot, but Phase 4 needed an Avengers film that was smaller scale and gave us a New Avengers THEN. So in my revised Phase 4, build up this world without the Avengers thing they were doing. Tease Skrull stuff in a few post credits things. Then have someone, maybe Sam or that Banner-Carol-Wong group, recruit a new Avengers group comprised on people they don't think are Skurlls to fight the Skrulls and do Secret Invasion. Shang-Chi could have been on the team and that post credits tease could have led to that, you could even have used some ideas they had like Fury not finding them a home is why this is happening. Then your Nick Fury show could have been about Fury needing redemption for his sins in that movie.

Like, Falcon & WS, have a post credits tag where Fury shows Sam a Skrull body. WF, have a post credits scene where we see Martin Freeman is a Skrull now. Etc. Maybe Skrull Rhodey is our main villain Gravik. Stuff like that.

So many "coulda/shoulda beens" with this show

But unfortunately we got what we got, which is, the one Marvel show I will go to my death bed pretending never happened

Feel bad for Samuel L that this was his only lead role in a Marvel project
