Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - Part 5

Lag is few and far between. Rarely in the US, 50 percent of the time with a player overseas. I've heard the horror stories of fps multi online, but it doesn't apply to this game, probably because most players are street fighter guys, which places them in the late twenties to early thirties.

cool! thanks!!

Started playing this a few months ago. It's pretty fun when I play people around my skill level. When playing against people who combo me 3 times and kill all 3 characters I might as well just put down the controller. lol I know simple combos but no 0-deaths.

I don't either, but I can attest that if you have decent fundamentals, you can withstand those combos and still win. Most of my buddies online can do all the long a** combos, and I can't, but I can still pull out a win most of the time due to what happens in between, you just have to not get frustrated. Definitely add me if you want to play someone that doesn't use any one hit kill combos though.

Especially if you catch me on there drunk (75% of the time), you'll probably have a good chance to kick the s**t out of me.

This may have already been posted, but I just wanted to point it out, as it's utterly fantastic. Great great video for people still trying to figure the game out, but also great if you've been playing it a while too. Viscant points out some stuff that I hadn't even realized yet, that are extremely important to know. For example, when you superjump, your character won't turn around until he lands, but on a normal jump you turn around as you pass over the person. I think that's actually caused me to get boned a few times, and I didn't even realize the reason until now. Really great stuff in this video.

has anyone traded in the game recently? trying to figure out where i can get the best deal.

I traded mine at EB, or Gamestop as you may know it, about a month or two ago and got nearly $50 bucks au for it (Which is about half of the games price here in Aus, so I guess that would be $25- $30 for you?)

hope so, most places give you more too if you get it on a gift card. May do that for the new game, but who knows, ill see

Certain places give you a better deal if you trade it towards a pre-order as well.

yea, i was thinking about putting it towards ultimate. (really if they spit out another too, paying 10-20 more for 12 characters, isn't so bad.

Jesus, I just realized my last post talking about that great instructional and in depth video by Viscant, totally didn't have the video in it. Here it is.

try again... *fixed*

Didn't stop Street Fighter.

The difference should be obvious, but i'll explain it to you just in case.

With the case with Street Fighter, that was for the Arcades in japan(Which are still making profit).

MvC series is mainly popular in the US, the US arcade scene is dead. So no arcade port will be made.

Get it now?

And everyone but the most cynical people thought MvC3 would not get an expansion in the first place, the logic being that no VS. has received one before. Yet here we are.

Don't underestimate Capcom, bro. They'll find a way to extend the franchise for an extra buck. Arcade edition or not.

this is all true. MvC is an American phenomenon. Chances of an arcade port is very very low. I guess it might be possible for capcom to roll the dice....very unlikely. I'd be very very surprised for an arcade version, even for capcom

couldn't they just call it MvC3: Arcade Edition, and have it not actually be an arcade port? just a title of a 3rd "upgrade"?

they also could just very well call it something else.. like EXTREME, AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, SENSATIONAL, UNCANNY, INCREDIBLE, etc... ?

It'll be called "Final Edition" and then there will be about two more editions after that.

why would they call it Arcade edition if there is no arcade port? It doesnt make sense

well... the style of the game, is probably one of, if not the most recognizable forms of "arcade" games... so... yeah.
