Bill, I think you're taking this a bit too seriously. MVC is known for having silly and over the top stuff. Was it ever said that every character had to be a fighter? Roll didn't really fight in TVC either. She was cleaning and her opponent "got in her way."

even Uncle Ben? :awesome:

More like JJJ.

Opening quote against Spider-man

"Parker, get a picture of Spider-man beating the crap out of me!"

I'm not actually being serious BTW.

I dont get the Nova dissapointment. He looks pretty solid. Phoenix Wright, however looks stupid in this

Anyone catch this?

Dang, Cable's dead :(

:wow: and Cyclops and Iceman, too. :csad:

but notice, Mega Man is neither Slain nor Apprehended. :cwink:

but to be fair, Roll was pretty awful as well

Yeah I noticed that about MegaMan. I thought he'd be dead but at least he's not.

At least make them a fighter though. Phoenix is a lawyer who is throwing papers and relying on a woman to do most of his attacks. It's lame as hell.

Yes. I suggest we do what Havok says. Let's get Aunt May playable. She can throw wheatcakes. Knit a sweater of death and then rely on Mary Jane to come out and light the enemy on fire with a can of hairspray and a match.

Maybe it's because I'm so used to playing SSBB, but I don't mind silly characters in fighters. And the PW fan base has been clamoring for representation for a while now. But I'll meet you half way here. Would it have been better if they picked a more sensible character like Fransiska( she uses a whip) even though typically she's still not really a fighter?

Phoenix Wright is the best thing to happen to this game. That trailer was all sorts of perfect.

Yeah I found Phoneix Wright to be awesome.

He's basically the equivalent of what Servbot was in MvC2.

yeah... i think the Capcom "vs" games are far more in line with games like "super smash bros" than "harcore" classic fighting games like Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat. the Capcom "VS" games have always had ridiculous stories, some hilarious moves, out there characters, and all around just a celebration of each company's characters. Nothing more, nothing less.

Are they going to release this Ultimate Battle on a game disc, or solely as a DLC?

I thought we were over that childish lack of logic that characters are "jokes" and "waste of space". Like these games are were ever THAT serious to begin with. :whatever:

Wright looked like a lot of fun. Shame he wasn't announced with Rocket to amp up the crazy. And while Nova didn't impress me, I know there's been A LOT of fans wanting him to show up in any video game period, so hopefully they'll get what they asked.

More details on PW

He has a low-hitting assist and a multi-hitting (rumored to be invincible like Tron) assist.

He has the most damaging LVL 3 in the game, tied with Vergil.

He can kill off any character effortlessly in Turnabout Mode in one combo without XF.

He can gather all the pieces of evidence he needs in roughly 1 second.

He has like 15 different versions of his evidence projectile.

He can heal red life (randomly).

He can stagger opponents (randomly).

I honestly don't see how he can be bad.

SNK vs Capcom being an exception considering just about everyone of those games were from a fighting game, while the MVC games are a mix of characters from fighting games, action adventure, platformers, survival horrors etc.

Nova's theme is awesome. I'll look up for it.
But the character didn't really excite me.

Except he'll actually be a viable character. Both Wright & Nova look friggin' awesome. I'm looking at possibly maining both.

I got you covered man!

Also, I think Mega Man is HIGHLY likely to get in as DLC/the third version now. Why would he be in the "Free" Spot instead of Wolverine, if not? They COULD of had Wolverine in that spot (like the real cover) since he was in MvC2 & is still fighting MvC3.

Maybe Venom will get in too, since he's not on the poster. Mega Man/Venom two-pack would make sense since they're the most wanted characters.

One thing though, it was Marvel themselves that vetoed Venom. And I don't see them changing their minds considering they're more about promoting their characters.

I would find it amusing if Flash Thompson Venom got in and something like this happened

Casual: "Who's this guy?"

Marvel: "That's Venom."

Casual: "No it isn't."

Marvel: "Yes it is. Don't you read the comics?"

Casual: "No. I thought Eddie Brock was Venom."

Marvel: "Yes he was Venom. But not anymore."

Casual: "That's not the Venom I was asking for!"

Marvel: "Tough luck kid. It aint the 90s anymore. You wanted Venom and you got him. Next!"

Have you ever been to a tournament? The ways you can play Brawl and the things you can do in MvC3 are insane. Anyone can pick up and play these games, but there's a world of advance play that make these games as hardcore and tech-heavy as Tekken.

In a Japanese interview I read, Capcom wanted Venom in, and Marvel didn't care either way. the problem was, Capcom felt Venom had changed too much in the comics since MvC2 and decided not to use him.

Also, while you may be joking about putting Flash-Venom in, he'd be perfect. He'd definitely have more options than Brock Venom would, having Symbiote-based, Spider-Man-based, and standard army-guy-guns-and-ammo based attacks.

??? and ??? that doesn't change anything i said. People can make tidily winks and Pokemon cards hardcore and challenging...

I was really looking forward to the Phoenix Wright reveal, cant say I'm disappointed. I'm really liking that theyre giving all these characters their own little nuances to make the characters more diverse. It really feels like this is the finished product and what we all bought back in February was the demo.

Flash Venom is the most interesting the character has ever been anyway. And yea, he'd have a cool powerset.

He's doing the same government missions Eddie did in the 90's. He's not different. People just irrationally hate Brock, even when the character is written in a cool way.

I'm assuming the dead Marvel characters are to tie into them being currently and canonically dead in the classic / ultimate universe?

I'm shocked and sad Capcom went ahead and killed off some of their characters. Captain Commando, Jin, Sonson, AND Amingo? Seriously, WTF, Capcom?

Interesting that Venom isn't on the list, but I'm glad to hear that Colossus, Ruby Heart, Gambit, Hayato, Psylocke, Rogue, and Bulleta are still alive. Here's to hoping they'll see to fight another day,,,

Phoenix Wright looks like the biggest ****ing waste of space they could've put in this game.

Phoenix Wright > Phoenix

(Modok too for that matter.)

Re: Mega Man

Seth Killian said not to get your hopes up about his Wanted photo, obviously they did it for a reason so if I were a betting man, I think it would be safe to say that him (or X) will be the next DLC characters. I think the reason why Mega Man got the shaft had something to do with Inafune leaving the company.

He really isn't. Venom as a government operative was more of a James Bond parody. The actually things Flash-Venom has done are degrees different from the stuff Eddie did. There's a more serious take with Flash than when they had Eddie just go off and act dumb as an operative. Plus Flash's inner conflicts with the symbiote bring in an angle Secret Agent Eddie didn't have cause...you know...there was no inner conflict with Eddie and the symbiote.

People just irrationally hate Brock, even when the character is written in a cool way.

I've been expressing the same sentiments for years.

Nah, not people. Just elitists. "Venom? A character popular in the '90s?... OH HOOOOW CRUDE!" *sips elitist fanboy tea*

Except it's pretty damn true. Everything about the 90's was pretty ****ing awful. There's a reason why the industry almost died during that time. Character like Venom, Gambit, Cable, etc were some of the more popular characters.

Anakaris didn't even make the list. I guess nobody cared about him. :csad:
